Description

Superworms are sensitive to cold weather. During the winter, we must double box all Superworm shipments to states that require Winter Packing. Description: (Zophobas morio) Lizards, frogs, salamanders, birds, and other insectivorous animals readily accept Superworms. Their hard chitin may make them less suitable for arachnids and some predatory insects. Superworms are approximately 2" long and 1/4" in diameter. Care instructions: On arrival of Superworms, shake them from their bag or box into a plastic container with slick side walls (kitty litter tray, dish pan, plastic aquarium, etc.). The container should have a bedding of chicken mash, wheat bran, corn meal or dry oatmeal. When bedding becomes sandy in appearance, add more bedding. Moisture is obtained through small pieces of raw potatoes, carrots, apples or celery, which is essential. Do not refrigerate Superworms as it is too cold and will kill them. Superworms can withstand heat up to 90 F. They will not change into a pupa or beetle as long as they are kept together. Superworms have a life expectancy of around three months.

  • Mostly alive
I’m a bit disappointed that 1000 count of crickets came in a box smaller than 1gal causing half to come eaten or smashed by the absurd amount of crickets (it took over a week to get here so they probably stayed in there to long without food or water as well). However overall it was honestly cheaper to buy this way than pet stores and around half came alive which is still 500 and are showing no signs of stress in their new habitat which is good. 7/10 would buy again due to the fact it’s only like $30 and that’s pretty good even for a 500 count which is approximately what I got left. However there’s a lot of corpses so my recommendation is to pick up the cartons shake off the live crickets and repeat otherwise you make a mess They also sent lots of cartons and that’s pretty great cause crickets love them I had low expectations but they were met and honestly this was fine, they weren’t all dead but there weren’t a majority alive either so buy this with the idea of getting around or up to half and if you get more good for you. ... show more

  • Pleased!
Could have come a little faster, but not terrible. I hate that all bug breeders package crickets just in a box because transferring them to my keeper is a pain. BUT they are good looking, clean, and even though it was cold, there were only 5 or less dead ones!

  • They all survived
Great packaging!! Most of them survive the trip. Some other brands I ordered were mostly dead in arrival
