For some reason, finding a decently-priced cotton duvet cover that’s actually comfortable is a seemingly impossible ordeal. Misleading product descriptions might lead you to believe that’s what you’re getting, but then you dive into the fine print and find that they’re not cotton at all, but rather that sweat-inducing polyester microfiber that seems to be everywhere nowadays. If you’re a hot sleeper like me, the last thing you want is the stuffy plastic seal of microfiber bedding. I’ve purchased other cotton duvet covers that claim to be “soft sateen cotton” and end up feeling like a rough burlap potato sack. But this one is the real deal. Not only is it just as soft and cozy as it says it is, it actually gets better after every wash. Before buying this I purchased a microfiber duvet set which just got too warm at night in the summer. Because we live in Arizona I set out to find something similar but more breathable and cooling. After extensive Amazon researching and comparing I chose this brand and I am extremely happy to say I love my purchase! This duvet set is extremely soft and I’m very surprised it’s only a 400 thread count because it feels like much more! The quality and construction is excellent and I see no reason why it will not last a very long time! The cotton is so much better than microfiber for warm nights and cotton also doesn’t stick to your clothes like microfiber does. I highly recommend this product and my only objection would be it is a bit cream in color compared to other true white sets. That being said, it is so slightly different that it doesn’t bother me and also strangely after washing it, it seems to appear a more true white. Buy this set, you won’t be sorry! ... show more

Let me open with this statement - sateen weave is not my favorite, but I knew that these were sateen when I purchased. I prefer a percale weave because of the crispness and coolness of the fabric. That said... this is a nice quality cotton sateen duvet cover. Ties in the corners, buttons on the bottom end - all well constructed. Color is what I expected. While I don't like how "shiny" it is, and that it sleeps warmer than I prefer, it might be perfect for those who embrace those qualities. If you like sheets / duvets that exude some luxury, then these will do. The biggest disappointment, is that it is not as soft as I desire. I'm hoping it will soften with a couple of more washes; and hoping that shiny factor goes away, too. It is very stiff, unpleasant odor upon opening. But the odor goes away with a wash. I washed them 3 times (once with vinegar) hoping for softness, but it's just not "there" yet. I know, it softens up as you use and wash. But the softness just isn't on par with my Br..li..n brand sateen or percale sheets. Not much wrinkling after a hot drying. The pillow cases are the envelope style on the ends and the right size for regular / queen pillows. This is a good company to buy from - great quality and OKEO TEX products. For the price, it's excellent - you won't be disappointed if sateen is your thing, and you wouldn't know it's lacking in softness unless you compared with more upscale products. ... show more

I'm outfitting a new vacation home and have been looking for good quality duvets that feel soft and "upscale." This one is excellent. It's very soft, and the long staple cotton gives it the drape, substance and sturdiness that I'm looking for. I ordered white, and plan to use for a casual, boho, beachy look on a layered bed. It is medium weight, which is also perfect for protecting the duvet underneath from watery spills. I put a summer/all season weight goose down duvet inside. It's light enough for warm weather use. It allows the duvet to fluff up beautifully, while also being thick enough to be durable through many washes. I think it would function well for both the home or Vacation Rentals. I can offer some comparisons: IKEA: The closest in price to this duvet. This one is much softer than my Ikea cotton duvets. The Ikea duvets also tend to be weirdly sized, especially for American queen sized beds- the Europeans don't drape their bedding over the sides of the beds. The duvets in Europe are generally folded on top of the other bedding during the day, so they fit with less draping. The Ikea is a little stiffer, a bit more wrinkled out of the dryer, and seems durable, though. Ikea online is not as easy as Amazon to order. Ralph Lauren: It's lighter weight and far less costly than Ralph Lauren. Since this duvet is for a guest room, the price point was important. I was afraid that the RL duvet with a down comforter would be too hot for summer use. Also RL mostly offers high impact patterns, this one is more neutral (I ordered white). Pottery Barn: I only ordered one from PB online. They offer some really cool beachy patterns that I fell in love with and had to have. The duvet cover from PB is very pretty, very soft, but very, very thin. Also costly. I won't buy another. Madison Park: Not cotton, not top quality. Microfiber: Don't bother. They won't hold up. Bad for the planet and for you. The company that makes this duvet is committed to sustainability and the environment. In short, thumbs up, 5 stars. I'd recommend this duvet cover for many reasons. I started using this sheet set and duvet cover without washing first (somethings I've done in the past with other brands and had no issues) and woke up with a migraine and was ill every single day -- extreme fatigue, dehydration (drank 3x more water), runny nose, etc.. I never get migraines nor such symptoms, and don't have allergies, so this was unusual. After a week of feeling ill and some research, it clicked. First night without sheets, I felt significantly better. I then did a test by placing them back on bed, and symptoms returned following morning. This is infuriating. My body was poisoned with toxic chemicals. Some cheap brands cut corners at the expense of consumer's health. ... show more
