I ordered this climbing rope to add a challenging element to my outdoor workout setup. Right out of the box, the rope felt incredibly solid—thick, dense, and weighty in a way that gave me confidence in its durability. I attached it to a reinforced garage beam using the built-in metal hook, and the installation process was as easy as advertised. The hook felt secure, and I appreciated not needing any extra mounting hardware or complex brackets to get started. Using it for climbing workouts has been fantastic. The grip is excellent—not too slick and not rough enough to give rope burns. I’ve used other ropes before that either frayed too quickly or absorbed moisture and became a hazard, but this one feels like it can take a beating and still hold up. It’s thick enough to challenge grip strength and support body weight without swinging wildly during climbs. Several other reviewers noted how sturdy and well-balanced it is when in use, and I fully agree. One thing worth mentioning is that this rope doesn’t stretch much, which is a plus for stability but might feel less forgiving to absolute beginners. Also, although no negative reviews exist for this listing, I noticed similar ropes tend to wear quickly if left in direct sun or rain for months at a time—so I plan to store mine indoors when not in use to extend its life. All in all, this rope has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of gear. It’s reliable, solid, and adds a dynamic challenge to my strength training routine.

This has a dual purpose for us. I’ve got it attached to a barn ceiling rafter, which is either 15’ or 16’ off the ground. Every time we try to get out the 32’ extension ladder to access those rafters for storage or for changing the incandescent lightbulbs (there’s 50 or so of them up there), we end up bashing at least one lightbulb that previously worked, and usually squabbling about it as well. My theory was that if I could just climb up there on the rope and then move carefully around the rafters as if they were attic space, we’d never have to deal with that ladder *inside the barn* again. It works! Obviously I don’t want to come crashing down onto the barn floor out of the rafters, but I’m careful and it’s actually easier to manage than I expected to maneuver up there. The rope is perfect. I tried the whole climbing into the rafters thing once before with some old 1” diameter dock lines we had, but the composition of them didn’t lend itself to a good grip. This one is perfect. My husband makes fun of me that I even want to be climbing a rope at my age (I’m over 50), but frankly I’m proud that I can, and if I do it on a regular basis, I ought to be above to continue to for years. The price is actually excellent for the quality, especially compared to what we’ve paid for dock lines in the past (my only other experience with buying long/thick ropes.)
