So, there's a story here. I have kittens. They destroyed my lovely curtains. I decided to buy some black out curtains because the heat has been getting a bit intense here in the south. These are definitely not my first choice. I was looking for something relatively inexpensive. The curtains themselves are plain (obviously) and lack character. But, I bought them anyhow (the kittens are going to have their way with the curtains anyway). Other than the curtains being so plain, they block out light superbly! And, they block the heat! These are a perfect linen color and the texture makes it feel like linen while being a blackout curtain. It is truly blackout which has been wonderful. My only complaint is the liner is more of a gray and it would’ve been nice to have a white or cream color there so it blends better, but for the price, I’ll take it. They're exactly what someone wants if they want blackout curtains; they hang beautifully. They're not wrinkled curtains. These are great for me as a migraineur, as our old curtains let in a lot of ambient light. We have a lot of windows in our master bedroom, and I’ve been wanting blackout curtains for a while. It’s not like we’re going to get a pitch black setting, because there’s always light seepage from the curtain railings and around the door. It is daytime after all. But these help immensely with light sensitivity. I read so many reviews on blackout curtains before purchasing, and I feel like these are the real deal. They are also nicer than other options I saw based on appearance (linen look) and color selection. Although, the light blue doesn’t look like the picture. The color is muted vs the vibrant color in the photo and has more of a gray tone, but they ended up matching the sheers, so I was ok with that. I would consider them more of a light slate blue. Please excuse the wrinkles in the photos, as we didn’t do the 5-minute dryer trick, and I’m too lazy to steam them. Besides, we don’t show off our bedroom much and with them closed, you can’t tell! I’m sure the wrinkles will fall out with time and the weight of hanging. In the first 2 pictures, I show our old curtains beside the new one, so you can really see the difference in a normal daylight scenario. ... show more
