Before I bought this, I noticed that most of the reviews mentioned gift wrapping/ornament making, but nothing about using as a sewing notion. I wasn't sure what to expect, and honestly, I was expecting something cheap and flimsy. Instead, this is a high-quality velvet ribbon that can be used for garments as ties or as trim. You can melt the ends with flame to prevent fraying. You can iron the ribbon on the wrong side and it straightens beautifully. It's perfectly thick. This ribbon exquisite. The burgundy color is perfect with absolutely perfect texture for the whole 10 yards. It is easy to work with. I cut my ribbon into 22 inch lengths. This gave me about 14 bows and two 11 inch bows . I am ordering another spool.
