We have two mini-dachshunds and they are by nature digger dogs. This spring my wife and I took up a strong flirtation with gardening. Some Lilies, Roses, Caladium, Hostas, etc. For a while it felt like us vs. them. If they weren't helping us dig they were sunning themselves in the beds. Something had to give. We needed a fence to protect the newer, more tender and delicate plants. So we got this 5 panel fence with swinging gate to cordon off a corner. Make no mistake about it, this is a fence. It may be temporary or portable as suggested but it is definitely a fence. And a pretty darned good one. “Easy to install”. This is true, but not by yourself unless you are forming a simple straight line. I put and “L” in mine and wished the wife wasn't napping. It is an unwieldy process due to the size of the panels and the fact that at first nothing is anchored to the ground. Once one finally gets the pieces in some order it is easy to get them in the ground, until . . . the gate. If you look at the instruction sheet, the gate doesn't exist. Only the plain panels. There is no guidance, insight or acknowledgment of how to attach the gate. Time to use intuition. Got it installed, but because one side can not connect to the next panel in order to open, the gate sags about ½ to ¾ of an inch throwing the look of the whole thing a bit askew. (If anyone from the manufacturer or distributor would like to contact me via Amazon's e-mail system regarding the gate, your communication would be warmly welcomed.) All that said the fence is very attractive, solid and sturdy. And the no dig element (tines to the ground) is perfect. It is keeping the dogs out effortlessly. I wish I could give 4 ½ Stars, but there are no fractions allowed, so for lack of gate instruction and a currently slightly sagging gate, I will award 4 Stars which is subject to change if conditions change. I am also giving this item a strong recommendation.

Piece of cake to install by myself. Only took a few minutes with a rubber mallet the only tool you need. The wife said she likes it so I suppose that is a win. Will do a fine job of keeping our small dogs out of an area, but don't expect it be effective against larger dogs / animals. It's primarily decorative for sure. For it's price I believe you could do better, it does seem to be decent quality and bonus points for the easy one person install without any noticeable bends or scratches. Obviously be careful and don't beat on it with a hammer. Nice easy taps with a rubber mallet and no problems. It seems a bit overpriced for what you get and I'm approximately two panels short of where I want it to go. I'm not about to pay the high cost of the five or ten panel no gate packages when I only need one or two additional panels. I checked their store page and don't see any other options to buy a panel or two at a time. So, spend a bunch of money and have extras or have a fence that almost makes it and come up with a solution such as visiting the local hardware store where single panels from other brands can be purchased without matching.

I set these up temporarily to check them out as I'm still working on the area they will be used. The fence is high enough to keep our dog out of the area, but a jumper could easily get over it. Nice glossy finish on the metal. It is five panels including the gate and its adjacent panel. It would have been nice if it had an even number of panels making it easier to use on a squared off garden. The rods for securing the panels together and into the ground were easy to install but they have a hole near the top that confuses me as there doesn't seem to be a reason for it. There are additional panels available in lots of ten to enlarge the length, but you're still off one on a free-standing garden with a gate. The gate latch is a simple design and is the weakest point in the fence. When installing the system make note of the panels to make sure you place the correct one on the latch side. It's easy to correct if you don't though. If you are trying to keep out a clever dog like ours, you'll want it to be on the side opposite where the dog will be. The gate can open either direction. This seems to be an average price for this type of fencing compared to what I found at our local hardware store..

This fence is pretty flimsy and should be used for decorative purposes only. It seems like any size dog would be able to push this open and escape. The one section that has the gate bolt came all bent and twisted out of shape on the bottom, and that didn't happen in shipping but it was shipped out to me like that from the factory. I believe it is overpriced as well.
