I ordered this bag of LBS Shredded Memory Foam Filling, Comfortable Bean Bag Chair Filler Without Gel, Random Colors Soft Beanbag foam to fill outdoor pillow covers for my patio. We recently redid our patio, it’s now our outdoor living/dining room and my outdoor office. I love how peaceful it is to work in my yard, the fresh air and sunshine are a great bonus. A few weeks ago I put out two sets of outdoor pillow covers, one stuffed with shredded memory foam and one with a traditional outdoor pillow form. It was a test, which would be more comfortable for me to use long term. In the end, I realized I needed both. While the traditional pillows are softer, I love how the memory foam allowed me to overstuff the pillow covers and make a really sturdy, supportive pillow. That’s why I ordered this bag of shredded memory foam, I wanted to make more sturdy, supportive, overstuffed pillows. I have spinal issues (fusions, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease) so the right size and strength of cushions can make the difference for me between a productive day of work and a few, short, frustrating hours. Our new outdoor living room has a daybed, so if my back gets bad, I can lie down and keep working, or even take a short nap. The memory foam came rolled up in a small bag, the air had all been sucked out. I always find it amusing to open a vacuum packed bag and watch the air hit the product inside. It was fun to watch this balloon in size. I have a very strong sense of smell, I did pick up some off-gassing from the memory foam. We left it outside for a day under the roof by our back door, and the smell dissipated quickly. Then I used the memory foam to stuff two more pillows I could use to lean or lie against, or to put under my legs when my knees and hips need to be elevated. The memory foam worked just as I hoped, I was able to stuff a lot of it into the pillow covers, making strong, sturdy, slightly overstuffed pillows. The finished pillows looked great, they also were very comfortable for me when I used them for extra support for my back, neck, or legs. We’ve been storing them outside in a waterproof storage box, no worries about them getting wet if it rains. I’ve never been able to use memory foam for a bed pillow, probably because I sleep warm. But for a support pillow that helps me sit up long enough to work, I find memory foam helpful. Chronic pain can be frustrating, but it teaches resilience and creativity. When my teenager was little, Roald Dahl was one of his favorite authors. (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Matilda, etc.) While in the UK, we took my son to the Roald Dahl museum. It had his actual writing hut behind glass. I was very inspired by how he had created a chair that allowed him to sit in comfort to write after he was injured in WWII. I’m also a writer, and I’ve been finding my own ways to increase my working hours. My new outdoor office is a great inspiration, these new sturdy pillows help me sit longer and lie comfortably when sitting is too difficult. The memory foam is strong and sturdy, it’s great for stuffing pillows or beanbag chairs because you can decide exactly how much stuffing you need for your own perfect level of comfort.

I wanted to make a bean bag or a large cushion for my room so I ordered this in place of stuffing since cotton fluff can go flat pretty fast. Plus I would need a lot more to truly fill the cover to make it comfortable. But these are a nice replacement for that. It’s came really compact and I thought it’d all be flat after opening. But that wasn’t the case! As soon as I opened it all the foam bits fluffed up. I got the 5 lb version and it’s nice but I’ll need to order another since the item I want to fill was bigger than I thought. Overall I’m happy with this!

While these pieces were no where near as regular l uniform in size and color as the picture suggests, the shred size is far more consistent than any other fill I've purchased. There were no detritus or debris mixed in either which was a huge relief--I've gotten some nasty fill before. The consistency of the foam varies but it was good for our bean bag chair. Would buy this again!

I'm using these to re-stuff my old and sagging couch, mainly the non-structural cushions. They work great! You get a surprising amount of foam in the package, which arrives vacuum-packed for space. The foam itself didn't have a ton of odor, which was nice. Most of the foam poofs inside are of the same length and size, so I'm not sure if there's a difference between the different colors. Either way, they've been a good substitute for poly fill fiber in my couch.

When I ordered this, I had not noticed that it said "without gel". Memory foam gets hot because there is no space for airflow, so gel (for cooling) would have made this so much better. As it is though, it is perfectly adequate to use as filling, but is best to be used under or behind something that will help with heat dispersion. The 5lb bag was nearly enough to fill a small pouf/ottoman that I had, it expanded perfectly and helps the pouf keep its shape while being comfortable.
