These guys make outstanding 12v high current power wire. I've bought hundreds of feet of their 8 gauge, and got some of the 10 gauge to try with some smaller applications here. It's the same stuff, just a little thinner gauge. This wire is super-flexible, using lots of strands of really thin wire and a silicon jacket. The leads are held together and won't unzip by themselves, but are easy to separate for connecting. The silicon jacket is pretty resistant to heat while soldering and won't catch fire easily, although it will shrink back if you get it too hot. I honestly think they under-rate their wire gauge. When I tested the 8 gauge for conductivity, it rated closer to 7 gauge, so you're getting better wire than they advertise. But keep in mind it's going to be a little thicker than you might be used to. Not only does it being stranded make it a little wider, but there seems to be more copper there too. I've got some lugs here that JUST fit the average 10 gauge wire, and I have to trim some strands off after stripping to get these to fit in. (and it's not a poor alloy - the conductivity is HIGHER than it normally would be for the rated gauge) And I always love how flexible this wire is, it's so easy to work with. My application requires more than just laying wire around in a car and leaving it there - I need to be able to handle and move, reconfigure, setup, and tear down all the time, so not having to fight stiff wire is a big plus for me. I'll take this any day over wire that use fewer thicker stands of wire. And the price is very reasonable for what you get. ... show more
