I dont ever do product reviews, but felt the need to get this out there. After a couple of months of research I went with the Reel Yaks Rapido, i have had other regular kayaks, canoes, catrafts, etc.. but this is my first pedal powered watercraft. The material quality, packaging, instructions all exceeded my expectations. super easy to assemble and get out on the water. took it out on the water for the first time yesterday caught both rainbows and Kokanee. pedalled (propeller drive) for almost 4 hours my first time out, was amazed how comfortable it was to sit in given the fact that I do have back issues, but after i got off the water everything felt great. basically "almost" all my comments are all "pros" The only cons, which are minor would be that how the rudder steering control handle interferes with the built in cup holder (minor issue, easy fix) reviews led me to believe I could stand up comfortably and fish ( im 5'-11" and 195 lbs and athletic) but found it to be not as stable for standing as I had hoped, but definitley very stable in al other respects. (i have already ordered a set of stabilizers) also very minor issue but the accessory rod holder is a little funky, not horrible but not on par with most of the other watercraft components. all in all, a great product and i would highly recommend. I'm on the Snake river in Idaho so there may be a Bixby outboard in my future :-) Keep up the great work! Thanks for a great product Reel Yaks!!!

First time pedal kayak for me. Stability is good. It actually moves faster in the water than I expected from reading prop vs flat reviews. Easy to assemble and holds up pretty good. For the value of what I paid compare to others I’m not complaining but I will have a few complaints. First off, the damn cup holder is in the worse spot ever. It conflicts with the rudder. Picture for reference. That’s my biggest complaint. I wear a size 10 and for a great foot position on the pedals my feet rubs the orange foam and squeaks like SpongeBobs boots everytime. You have to slouch kinda in your seat to get a good pedaling position. One of my clamps was bent but thank god they gives you a spare replacement one. Also while assembled, it’s freaking heavy. Like extremely heavy. Better to assemble right next to the water but heavy isn’t bad because it’s good material. All in all, I’m happy with my purchase. With just some adjusting and adjustments it will be perfect for my needs.

Horrible! After 3 hours of use total the pedals fell off. The arms of the pedals are made of aluminum and the pedals are stainless steel. Was set up to fail from the beginning. A soft metal (aluminum) cannot hold a harder metal it will always fail. On top of that this kayak breaks into 2 pieces which in theory would work but after those same 3 hours of use there were several gallons of water that came out of the back section. Everything was tight as I double checked before going in the water. My guess is the water somehow came in through where the bottom latch is because there is no other way it could come in. By at your own risk! I do not recommend.

Bought on a deal due to shipping box damaged. Kayak and all parts were inside. Once together, I couldn't wait for the maiden voyage. I am extremely pleased with this kayak. Pedal drive is awesome and rudder control very simple. Can't wait to get back on the water!

Loving this vessel! It came with one missing wing nut that secures the rudder... no big deal really. I notified Reel Yaks and 1 week later they sent us 8 extra wing nuts! I'm new to this but after taking this thing out for a day I'm blown away! Minor effort needed to move this vessel along using the prop version with pedals. Fits in my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with room to spare. I feel that this is a great value and well built. Couldn't be more pleased!!
