The actual product is good and for the price with the ratchets it is great. Weight of the rope is fine but the ratchet and the "beaners" are heavy and I don't see this on a backpack. Easy to use and easy to grip. Overall stability is fine. The problem I have is with current description of the item. "10.5mm/12.7mm Static Climbing Rope 32FT to 150FT, 3825lbs-9000lbs High Strength Rock Climbing Rope, Arborist Bull Rope For Rappelling Tree Work, Hiking Camping, Fire Rescue, Caving,Sailing,Swing" It is 3-4mm not any larger in diameter. You would NEVER use this to climb with unless it is just to hall up gear. I will stop there because the description is completely wrong. Improve the description and I think you got a good product. Nice that the pictures actually tell you what you are getting in terms of strength. I also like the reflective nature of the line and say it is one of the best "value" adds to the product.

I ordered this climbing rope so that I can use it in summer here in Michigan looks sturdy and looks like a solid material used in the manufacturing of this climbing rope, but I haven’t yet tried it because of the winter over here.

Good camping rope with carabiner clips and a ratcheting capability set. The rope is a tough nylon material much like a boot lace, with a woven texture that is easy to grip when tightening or adjusting. The steel carabiner-type clips are strong and have firm spring action that keeps them closed securely. They are not particularly smooth on the edges though, so you need to be careful not to snag the rope on them since the rough edges could damage the woven coating over time. The ratcheting action works well, the release isn’t a button but simply pushing up on a metal tab releases the rope. This isn’t immediately obvious so I added a picture of how to open by pushing up with a finger. What makes this especially useful is the ratcheting clip. It has a hook on one end and the rope feeds through the other, allowing you to quickly tighten items while camping and then just as quickly release them when it is time to pack up. For example, this worked great for quickly tensioning a tarp over a table before a storm. The clip is marked 1/8 inch, which appears to refer to the pin diameter at the topic the ratcheting mechanism. Systems like this are designed for lighter loads used for gear management and storm protection, but they are absolutely not intended for climbing or supporting body weight.

These ratcheting tie-downs are a good option for those who prefer not to deal with knots. (A tautline hitch or trucker's hitch can do a similar job if you're seeking simplicity or lighter weight.) The cord is supple and flexible and runs through the pulley well and the carabiners and ratchet mechanism look well made. The items match the description well, though the I'll probably use these for securing loads on the cargo rack of a 4x4 ATV. If you're using these to secure a tarp or anything that might flap in the wind, clip the carabiner at the end of the cord to the tarp and the ratchet pulley to the stake or tree. You don't want the pulley flapping around in a high wind. I highly recommend that you re-tie the knots securing the cord to the carabiner. As received the knots are just a pair of loops secured by the overhand knot at the end of the cord. Instead, use two half hitches - just a pair of simple overhand knots. Find a youtube video for instructions.
