I was a little concerned about the quality and run-out due to price and country of origin, but I was pleasantly surprised. I only use the lathe at the tail end of the season, so I did not want to spend a lot on this tool. It worked very well with very negligible amount of run-out.

    • Way better than I expected
This chuck is heavy and well constructed for the price. I don't know what the jaws are made of but they align very well on my sample. It's rated to go to 1mm but mine closes on a 0.5mm drill bit. Maybe sample variation but it certainly made the small end spec. I can't test the run out as I'm using this on a MT2 lathe tailstock. In that application it needs a 1/4-20 bolt put into the back so the tailstock can eject it. Simple and easy. If you need low runout, I can't give you a figure. However, if you are just wanting to use it on a lathe tailstock like me, its a great deal for a wide range keyed chuck. My only concern is the quality of the jaws, but for the price, its a good deal. ... show more

Smooth turning chuck is easy to adjust by hand. Amazing for the list price. The Morse Taper Arbor MT2-JT33 adapter is threaded 1/4-20 at the base for a drawbar in case you have a lathe or old drill-mill that has provision for one. You can put the chuck and adapter in a press to seat the JT33 hard if it wants to come apart on you, then use the drawbar to lock in the MT2. Very happy with this chuck. ... show more
