I am pleased with what I see of the product's quality. Looks like it will last a long time and hold up very well. There is no sense in putting this outside in the winter, so I'm going to wait until spring to build panels around the base of my blueberry bushes' PVC frame. As the season gets closer to ripened berries, I cover the frame's top and sides with bird netting to, of course, keep the birds out. The plastic fencing I've had around the base is getting old and tears easily at the bottom. I've kept cutting the bad parts off, so the fencing gets shorter and shorter. Pinning it down isn't easy or secure enough, so sometimes, birds get in underneath anyhow. A rabbits got in and chewed off the new shoots. The new, sturdy wire fencing will definitely be worth every penny.

I purchased this Hardware Cloth to replace the cheap chicken wire (see photo) that our contractor had used to line the bottom of raised beds he installed and that had rusted away into powder after a few years. I am hoping that this new galvanized square-grid will last far longer. Then, a novel application beckoned - I like to keep the top of one Dutch Door to my office open to permit a breeze, but I needed a barrier to cats. Typical window-screen material was too easily destroyed by cat claws. This hardware cloth was plenty strong enough and could be screwed into the wood frames on the top and bottom. See photo that shows the three wood screws with washers at the top end of this custom heavy-duty door screen. I cut the hardware cloth with 10" sheet-metal snips - this meant that the free side by which humans pass had very sharp tiny "spears" where the horizontal wires ended, and I covered that end with uxcell Edge Trim U Seal Black Rubber Plastic U Channel Edge Protector Fits 3/32" - 9/64" (from Amazon). See black trim on the right-hand side of the screen in the 2nd photo. Not easily visible - every 4 or 5 inches I used a needle with black thread to secure the black rubber to the hardware cloth.
