The concept of these devices is that they split rocks by applying pressure from the inside going out. These wedges can exert an amazing amount of power. These are simple primitive tools. Hard work but way cheaper than dynamite and quicker than expanding grout. For the money, it's a much better value than having a landscaper move it and split it for you. Just drill the holes along the line you want to fracture, about 6 inches or less apart and set the feathers in place so the generated force will be perpendicular to the break line and start hammering the wedges in an alternating pattern. Start at one end of the fracture line and hit the wedges one after the other across the line until the piece fractures.
