  • First new gpu bought and it is stronk.
Bought it to replace an RTX 2070 Amp Extreme and it is a massive improvement. Really quiet and temps are low consistently. Really does the job quite well. Haven't found a game it doesn't do 100fps or more in with rtx off.

  • 1440p beast!
Forget what YouTube reviewers say about the price, do your own research. Right now (2/5/23) there’s not a single other card at the $800 price point that can compete at 1440p native resolution. For 1080p gaming I recommend a 3060 ti, but at 1440p… this card is (in my amateur opinion) the perfect price to performance balance in this market. I’m impressed with the Zotac quality fit and finish. My card benched at 246% on userbenchmark out of the box, so with a light OC it is better than a 3090 ti for significantly less cost. Whole heartedly recommend. ... show more

  • It works, and will fit in most PC cases
Not much to say, it works. Had the chance to compared and test it in the same system against a EVGA 3080 FTW Ultra 12gb, and it was not much better. They are about the same in size, the 4080 runs about 10-12 degrees cooler, and you get at most 15 fps more. The RGB is meh. I wanted to set it at static white, but that is not going to happen. You cannot get a true white like with G.Skill RGB ram, or Asrock mother board. It has a slight blue tint that just does not match at all. Had to settle on blue. ... show more

  • Great card after almost a year of use
Update: The thermal issue I encountered magically went away after a few months, without me tinkering anything. I suspect it's either a software issue or sensor reporting issue. It has been working great for past few months. Recently I upgraded my platform, reinstalled system and was able to get a +170/1700MHz OC. With 100% fan speed and 105% power limit, I achieved top 1% score in 3DMark Port Royal for hardware same as mine. Needless to say, this means my card is definitely in a good shape, not a lemon as I originally thought. I'm leaving the original review for reference, but note that the issue is gone. Original: I was decently happy with the card until recently the fan starts screaming like crazy. The hot spot temperate is regularly 40C+ above either GPU and memory and whenever it hits ~110C, the fan immediately jumps to full throttle and this is very noisy. It's trivially reproducible with 3DMark. The attached image is a single run from port loyal benchmark and so far the throttling cost around 50-75MHz. Not all games get hit by this yet, but some of them are really close at 105C+. Pretty sure it was not like this when I got the card and it has only been 3 month. I haven't RMA'ed it because I am not sure whether this is bad enough to be covered by warranty. At this rate, it will probably fail within the 3-year warranty anyway and I can send it back then. :-( Good: * MSRP, though 2023 MSRP is still too high. * Pretty decent cooling (other than the hot spot issue but I assume that's a defect) * Includes stand to prevent sagging Bad: * Can't turn off LED without the firestorm app * The firestorm app is not digitally signed (as of V4.0.008E). IMO this isn't acceptable for app that interfaces hardware and requires admin privilege. Others: * The included stand is a bit too short. It's just enough for my mid-tower (CM H500), but won't be useful for bigger mid-tower or full tower. ... show more

  • Worth it when it is MSRP
Bought it with $799 MSRP and it it a huge upgrade from my old 2070! If you are already using RTX 30 series, this wouldn't be a big upgrade but if you are below it, it definately worth it's price.
