This is a sturdy little bag that is extremely light and very easy to pack. It also packs into itself great, making it super convenient to store for trips. I take a lot of business trips and am lucky to be able to make time for hikes when I do. I now bring this along over my slightly larger day pack. I never have enough stuff on a day hike that I have minded the difference. I have had a fleece, a long sleeve, 2 water bottles, hat, and mittens stuffed in here, and still been able to wear it comfortable. It also has a nice inside pocket for stowing keys / wallet and a front pouch for easy access to gloves, etc. It is also infinitely adjustable. At 5’4” I can cinch it tight, and at 6’3” my boyfriend can loosen it and wear it comfortably as an extra pack when he visits. Because there is no padding on the back, you do want to be mindful of how you pack it, or you can feel lumps on your back. I have never been truly uncomfortable with it on, but have never gone more than probably 9 miles with it at a time. It is also a great grocery bag , and I use it often on work trips to get enough food for 2-3 days of breakfast / dinner in my hotel room, or hauling groceries home in the city. Very sturdy and can’t see any signs of wear. It also rinses out nicely and is somewhat water resistant if you’re caught out in the rain. I might not trust it in a deluge, but have used it in rain showers and it kept things fairly dry. That inside pocket is also a great place to keep your phone in the rain because it has 2 layers of the water resistant fabric on both sides. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Living in the city, I use this for days when I need a few things at the store. Won't work for heavier items like milk or soda. But for a bunch of lighter items like bread, snacks, or some produce, this fits plenty. And the material has held up after a year. I like the low-key design, which is hard to find in the stores. So not a real bookbag. And I wouldn't recommend for everyday. More for taking food/drink, and not be weighed down while sightseeing. Being foldable is a bonus, to save space if you're packing. So, it's been nearly a year and a half since I purchased this backpack and in an excess of #QuedarTeEnCasa (Stay at Home, people) I finally have some time to write the glowing review this little pack deserves. This backpack has been all over the United States, Canada, Guatemala, and Colombia. I have used this bag as a carry-on, a day pack, and a snack bag. Let me tell you, this five star review shows that it has made it through every adventure. As a note: I should be clear that I tend to take very good care of my things. The only wear that this bag has received was a small tear in the mesh water bottle pocket on the side when I decided that was the best place for my colored pencils. Note to the reader: it's not a good place for *sharpened* colored pencils, but this has not affected the integrity of the bag. This bag has also survived and checked off everything in my Latin American Transportation guidelines. Meaning that it fits comfortably in front. Even when it is completely full, you can still cross your arms around the middle. It also can be strapped to the top of any moving vehicle, bus, car, camioneta, and you don't have to worry about it. If you do tend to worry, or get antsy on planes, I have found that a small TSA approved lock or a clip can hold the zippers together, with your worries assuaged. This bag, for me, can hold two weeks worth of clothes, toiletry items, notebooks, the aforementioned colored pencils, a small paperback, and a small DSLR camera. All of this is also comfortably sits by your feet on a bus, and can be carried throughout a city if you need to wait all day before you make it to your lodgings. It also does great for holding snacks, a few bottles of water, a hammock, swimsuit, and towel for one of those all-day-waterfall-at-the-end hikes. All this to say, this bag is incredible. It fits in a mochila and can instantly double your carrying capacity if you decide that you absolutely need to buy that bulky sweater at the market because it has llamas on it (not that this exact scenario has taken place...). But it's also lightweight enough that you can carry it around all day without using it and not feel like you were packing the extra pounds for the what-if scenario when you might need extra carrying capacity. So to recap. Yes, (if you're good at packing) you can live out of this bag for a week. Yes, it can pack into a small square when you're not using it. No, do not put sharpened colored pencils in the mesh water bottle pocket Yes, the handles and straps are sturdy and comfortable. Yes, it holds up after nearly two years of travels.
