While this tool might work for lighter soils, it broke during the first use where I live in CA. We have heavy clay soil here. I do not recommend buying this tool if you have heavy soil.

This may be a bit over engineered for cultivating a raised bed with loose soil. However it is perfect for weeding in heavy, tight soils. I will use it primarily for invasive weed control in my woods.
