I've been using this product for at least five years. It's great tasting oil. I like that it's not in plastic, but that the container is metal. Also, the container is very attractive. The size and shape makes it easy to grab and pour the oil.

After trying 6+ different kinds of oils -- name brand, Greek, Californian, fancy ones from local boutique store -- this is the one that everyone in the family loved. It works great raw on breads and salads, or cooked in pasta, pizza, veggies. It is not astringent at all. Unless I would have done a side-by-side taste test, I would not have noticed how strong other EVOO were. This is full of flavor and aroma. Absolutely love it. I am surprised they are able to offer such a quality product at this price ($10). Their new spout system in the tin also has a little nozzle that comes out making it easy to pour into your bottle without needing an extra funnel. ... show more

The USA is dumping ground for stale and low quality olive oil and no doubt even fake olive oil. Our govt has no enforced standards so sellers can claim anything true or not without fear of punishment. The labels are meaningless. Not even sure some of the olive oils are all olive oil. Temptation too great to cheapen for that extra bit of profit. FDA mostly concerned whether its edible (wont kill you nor make you seriously ill) not whether its what it states on the label. This is IMHO probably best of affordable olive oil with consistant acceptable flavor and not stale. Is it the best olive oil out there? Not by a long shot, but its a good consistant daily driver that wont bankrupt you. ... show more

    • Love the Olive Oil; Hate the Cans

Olive oil has great taste and value. I didn't want to spend all day looking for the perfect olive oil; this one had good reviews and a good price per liter as compared to grocery store varieties. I use olive oil for everything (as opposed to any other types of oil), so Zoe's is a good compromise on quality and value for a large amount - good bang for the buck. My biggest (really only) complaint are the annoying tin cans. Every pour from the can results in wasted oil coming down the side of the can or resting on the top of the can. I feel like any money I saved buying this oil is being poured down the side of the can. Plus, I get to clean it up, every single time. That annoyance alone is not worth any saved money. Bottom line: I do like the taste; I do enjoy cooking with it; I hate the cans. I would consider buying this oil again in a different container type if the price was still right. EDIT: I have seen the comments on how to open it properly and have gone back to buying and using the is olive oil, as well as transferring it to a spouted glass bottle (works much better). Thanks for the comments. Still annoyed that they don't print directions anywhere on the can for use of the spout. It is so easy once you know, but how are you supposed to just automatically know!? ... show more

    • I'm Fairly Picky About My Olive Oil Choices

I'm a self-admitted snob where several food items are concerned and olive oil is one of them. I also seem to have had far better flavor experiences with oils of Spanish origin. Nothing against Italian oils at all, as there are some really, really good ones . . . but it just seems that I've consistently gotten better flavor from more varieties and regions for the Spanish oils. As fellow aficionados are well aware, there are different olive oils for different culinary occasions and no single olive oil serves all needs. This one does however provide excellent flavor crossover, whether for use dipping, in a vinaigrette or a drizzle across veggies, pastas or as a meat prep before going in the oven (under 375degrees). That said, ZOE is a pretty remarkable and quite reasonably priced first cold pressed Spanish blend providing a reliably consistent flavor profile. Yes, I'd recommend it and no, I am not being rewarded for providing a positive review. Good stuff! ... show more

I have searched for an olive oil with real flavor for years and I now have found it! This is the oil you want for non-cooking applications like vinaigrette, dipping, and drizzling. You can use it for cooking, but keep the heat low to retain all the flavor and health benefits. The flavor is buttery, sweet and mild, but distinctly olive-y. The price is very reasonable and so much better than anything you can get locally...unless you live in Greece. Buy some! ... show more
