Hi-Fi it ain't, and I suspect 200W is merely aspirational. Nevertheless. for twenty-odd bucks it's fairly decent. It does the job I had in mind. a 'practice' amp for a homebrew modular synthesizer sitting in my basement; for speakers I used an old Boston Acoustics Subsat 6 set. There is at times a high degree of audible noise in the mid-to-upper frequency range; I suspect but have not proven this to be from the switched-mode power supply I'm using.

The ZK-1002T stereo amplifier board, featuring the popular TPA3116D2 Class D chip, is a well-known option that claims up to 100W per channel. This particular version arrives as more of a kit than you might expect — the knobs and protective cover for the board need to be assembled by the user using some extremely tiny screws. I’ve included a picture next to 22AWG wire for scale. A small screwdriver is thoughtfully provided, but a pair of tweezers would have been useful, too. For my needs — providing sound effects for a model railway — I only required two small 10W speakers. If you're using speakers of that size, I recommend limiting the power supply to 12V and no more than 3A to avoid overdriving them. The amp features a combined power/volume knob, plus bass and treble controls, with some nice sliver knobs, that are a little too close together for regular adjustment but otherwise okay, unfortunately there is no left/right balance — a common omission in amps of this type. Sound quality is about what you'd expect for this price point: more than adequate for background sounds and station announcements. Bluetooth 5.0 pairing is supported and activates automatically on power-up. However, this also means the amp forgets its pairing when powered off, which can be frustrating if your source device is also frequently cycled. In my case, I opted to connect the Raspberry Pi’s headphone output via cable. Finding a suitable TRRS (Pi) to TRS (amp) cable was trickier than expected — many “microphone” versions are incorrectly wired. Ultimately, I used a TRRS-to-RCA cable from the Pi, and then RCA-to-TRS into the amp, which worked well, though it made for a slightly bulkier setup. As usual with these electronic components instructions, particularly for Bluetooth could have been a lot better.

A very effective amplifier for the price! A little bit of assembly required, but that keeps the cost low. I did return this product, but it turned out my SPEAKERS were at fault (foam rims had disintegrated) and the amp was most likely doing a great job. Did not get too hot while testing. Be sure to use quality cables. The terminals on this amp are a little densely packed together so it takes some patience to connect the bared wires to each screw.
