I did return this product, but it turned out my SPEAKERS were at fault (foam rims had disintegrated) and the amp was most likely doing a great job. Did not get too hot while testing. Be sure to use quality cables. The terminals on this amp are a little densely packed together so it takes some patience to connect the bared wires to each screw. ... show more

Hi-Fi it ain't, and I suspect 200W is merely aspirational. Nevertheless. for twenty-odd bucks it's fairly decent. It does the job I had in mind. a 'practice' amp for a homebrew modular synthesizer sitting in my basement; for speakers I used an old Boston Acoustics Subsat 6 set. There is at times a high degree of audible noise in the mid-to-upper frequency range; I suspect but have not proven this to be from the switched-mode power supply I'm using. ... show more
