Expensive price tag but the build quality and aesthetic beauty of the stand are impeccable. I bought the padauk wood model for $199.99 and mercifully there was no tax or shipping charges. It looks exactly as advertised. I’ve had it about a month and it is still generating a kind of white dust but Zither does warn that the padauk wood will do this for a time. Hopefully this will eventually go away. Price complaints aside I do love this stand and am glad I own it. It’s beautiful and I can use it in any room in the house and not feel like I need to put it away when we’re expecting company. In spite of my displeasure with the price I could not give this awesome stand anything less than 5 stars. I feel that product ratings should be based solely on the quality of the product and it’s not like I didn’t know how much it cost when I made the decision to purchase it. *UPDATE* - September 2019 After 10 months my Padauk Wood stand is still generating the white film at the same rate and in the same quantities as it did when I first got it. I’m beginning to doubt that this issue will ever subside. I use the recommended English Oil religiously but within a day or two the white film is back full force. Hope this helps others who might be trying to decide between Padauk or some other wood. Unless you don’t mind having to oil your stand every other day I recommend choosing a different wood. Really bummed that I didn’t. *UPDATE* - July 2022 After 3 1/2 years my Padauk wood stand is still generating white, powdery residue. It’s worse than ever. I can’t clean it everyday anymore. It feels like a “fool’s errand”. I dismantled it and stuck it in a closet. *UPDATE* - AUGUST 2022 I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM DEBBIE AT ZITHER THIS MORNING. I ALSO SPOKE WITH THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY, TONY(?), WHO ALSO DESIGNS AND BUILDS THE STANDS. THEY ARE ADAMANT ABOUT SENDING ME A NEW GUITAR STAND AND REFUSED TO TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. DEBBIE SENT ME PICTURES OF THE NEW STAND AND IT’S BEAUTIFUL. IT HAS ALREADY BEEN SHIPPED AND IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE ON MONDAY. I researched Padauk wood after my initial purchase and I discovered that the problem I’m having is a common one for Padauk wood. Apparently Padauk wood contains oils that don’t dissipate out too easily. I’m guessing that furniture craftsmen, like Zither, purchase their Padauk wood in good faith that it has been properly cured and dried, but sometimes it just hasn’t been. It also seems that some “batches” of Padauk wood contain overly high amounts of the oils. I sympathize with the dilemma of the craftsman who wants to use Padauk. It is a beautiful wood. Zither is obviously a first rate operation. I’m gonna find a reason to buy another stand from them.

“That is the coolest guitar stand I have ever seen.” That’s what a friend of mine said while visiting. I agree completely. As virtually all the other reviewers have said, this stand is BEAUTIFUL. It’s a fine furniture piece. Not only is this stand a knockout visually, but more important to me, it’s an excellent design. I can appreciate a ‘good design’. I’ve worked in automobile design engineering for +35yrs. Over 20 of those years has been in “body structures”. This stand is plenty robust for a guitar. Plus, I feel a guitar is much safer on this stand than a triangle or tripod stand. If you or anybody else, including the dog, accidentally gave it a real good bump, it may wobble a little bit, but that’s all... no damage. That’s not true with those triangle stands. An equivalent bump would send a precious guitar flying. YIKES! I shudder the thought. The yolk from which the guitar hangs is a “String Swing”, which is another fine Made in USA product. It’s soooo easy to pick up the guitar, and put it back. Another “good design.” I’m a repeat buyer of this stand. Several moths ago I purchased the walnut model. Beautiful. This time, maple. Again, I’m thrilled! It’s simple to move around the stand and guitar together. During practice sessions, I’ll place the stand right next to me. When done, I put them back in the display spot. This stand will showcase your guitar and keep it close to hand... and a ‘close to hand’ guitar is an ‘often played’ guitar. This stand isn’t designed to be “road stand.“ It’s designed to look good and hold a guitar ... safely.... and it does both, wonderfully! Two of the most beautiful things I have ever seen are a women’s legs and an acoustic guitar. The curves... visually captivating! Put those legs in heels... and WOW! Hang a guitar on one of these stands and...... same affect... WOW. .. “What a looker!” LOL Buy this stand! You will NOT regret it. You’ll love it. I do! Muskellunge.

I like to leave my guitars out of their cases because when they are in cases and hidden away they don't get played. But I don't have a seperate music room so my stands are out in our living space. My wife has accepted this but I wanted to make it look more like a piece of furniture for her. So I looked for wooden stands and Zither seemed the best choice. Great reviews, great looks, and even though price was high compared to traditional guitar stands, I didn't want a traditional guitar stand, right? So to me that premium was worth it (I hoped). Well, got it and am very happy. It looks great (I would have loved the walnut one but at twice the cost I couldnt bring myself to go that far). It's extremely stable, just doesnt move and it holds the guitars like a champ. Another reviewer here said that based on his experience from working in a music store, the particular guitar holders on this can somewhat dissolve nitro finishes Others say they've had no issues and swear by them but since I don't know I didn't want to chance it. But fortunately we had some old baby socks and voila! The guitar is only touching a nice soft cloth and I don't have to worry about it at all. After just one day I decided I needed another Zither stand for my other guitar. If you're on the fence about this I feel comfortable saying you'll be happy with this product. Great stand!

Guys, don’t even contemplate other stands. You’ve come to this stand’s page for a reason. You don’t like those cheap looking black metal stands that are hard to vacuum around without risking your expensive guitars getting knocked over. You also like good quality and good looking products that you don’t mind paying a fair price for. This product is for you! They’ve crafted a super sturdy stand that’s made out of extremely high quality wood (I went for the mahogany one). The color is amazing and they even provide free lemon oil to condition the wood to keep it in the best looking condition over time. It’s so sturdy that even if you intentionally knock the stand over, neither the stand nor the guitar falls. There’s even a YouTube video demonstrating this. That’s what sold me on this. Don’t settle for the cheap knockoffs of this product. It’s well worth the investment. I bought 2 for my Gibson Les Paul standard and Fender American Professional II Stratocaster. My biggest criteria was sturdiness because I wanted to keep my Les Paul at arms length but not risk breaking it due to a fall and this stand delivered! I bought 2!

After seeing this instrument stand on Amazon, I was immediately struck by the gorgeous wood choices available. I have a specific walnut bodied bass guitar in my collection that I knew would be absolutely perfect for this stand in the walnut option. First, the delivery was faster than expected and I was thrilled to see the product arriving so soon after ordering. I understand this may not be typical, but once you see this stand, it would be worth waiting for. Second, the packaging was extremely well constructed and any fears that the contents may not be in perfect condition were immediately dismissed. Lastly, the actual stand itself was even better that I thought. It truly is a handmade piece of art that is aesthetically beautiful, precisely engineered and highly functional. It assembles easily and I have no concerns that my prized Rickenbacker bass is in any danger of falling from a poorly designed stand here! The company is clearly a class act by adding a personal touch to include a bottle of wood oil to care for the stand. If you are looking for a truly artisan instrument stand, this product will not disappoint. My biggest dilemma now is to decide what other instruments in my collection will be worthy of the next stand I purchase.

Outstanding quality. Beautiful solid wood with stable and firm assembly ( they do suggest you don't let your drummer assemble it ;) ). I was impressed so much I immediately ordered another one.

Bought this to hold a piece of “guitar art.” Quality maple wood that works well against our maple floors. Love the sleek design. Assembled easily. Arrived promptly.
