It’s very flattering. I plan to wear it with a short sleeve shrug. I’m about 5’5” and just under 200 lbs. I’m relatively proportionate, but a bit heavier in the tummy area. The large just fits perfectly. Also, the layers are sewn overlapping so you can easily cut one or two off if you want to change the length of the dress. I cut the bottom one off , and it now hits just below the knee. Very pleased with the dress.

The smocking on this dress doesn't stay up if you're bigger than a B-cup, and because I'm definitely bigger, I can't wear this as a dress. Luckily it works for me as a skirt, if I fold the smocking over. I suppose I could try adding straps, but I probably won't. But it's really cute and a nice fabric.
