The wood is pressed wood so it's a little cheap material wise, whenever we were screwing in some screws bits and pieces would chip away. When we were assembling the top piece, the springs didn't line up properly so when the lid is closed it's short on one side and longer on the other. But it does what we intended for it and looks nice otherwise. Edit* The springs are so tight that the lid slams closed and I've been wondering how long it would take before I accidentally slammed my finger in it, which happened today.

First of all this isn't quality furniture. But it is a very useful peice. It's particle board so its heavy. It's not going to last a lifetime but, for the price, that's ok. I've recently downsized and no longer have a spare room to use as an office. I work from home a lot and this is just what I needed to make things work for me. I can lift the top and work on my laptop right from the sofa. Then, when the day is done, I can stash my laptop in the table, put the top down and have my living room back. Assembly: There are no written instructions. You have to rely on the drawings that are not very detailed. But every part is labeled and easy to identify. Take your time! Study the pictures and and you shouldn't have any problems. If you center the hinges from front to back and side to side, it will align perfectly. While not a quality peice of furniture, I would still reccomend this for the price and functionality if you have the patience to put it together.

Other companies sell a similar item for a much higher price. This is the lowest price for this type of table I've found and there's a reason why. With the way the hinge is designed, the top of the table doesn't sit evenly with the bottom portion. So it looks about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch off when closed. There's no way to adjust this when putting it together because the hinge sits directly up against the inside edge. I have slight OCD so this bothered me. If you don't have OCD and want a lift top table at a good price, by all means it's worth it.

The color is nice and espresso - very dark. The instructions are similar to a swedish box store and took a litl etime to figure it out. I did like that it was in sections so you can build up subassemblies. It is made of particle board need to ensure screws are drive straight and particle board can chip. so far I'm satisfied with the product it is a god workign height to set up my computer next to the couch, so i dont have to use the hard dining room table chairs for working from home. Product arrived in good condition.

Overall assembly is straight forward. For everything EXCEPT the lifting top. My primary issue is that the pieces the spring lift is attached to the lid only had two markers for screws on each side, and I had to find a drill bit to break through the lacquer and attach it, and the inside of the base didn't even have indicators for placement at all, not even one. Because of this the top ended up uneven for me because I didn't have anything to work with. If you don't have power tools or aren't handy, please pay for the assembly.

I was able to assemble it, and while it's beautiful and sturdy those instructions were awful! Luckily I'm very handy and figured it out. In the end it was worth it, works and looks exactly as shown and described. But IKEA has better instructions than this did.

Table does look just like the one in the picture and putting it together wasn't so bad. It's a pretty sturdy table! One of the issue with it was that one of the boards did not have the holes to attach the raising table top. So I gotta get a drill to get that part together. Other than that I still think it was worth getting and like it!
