  • The little machine that could
This little machine is one of the best purchases I have invested in this year. It was a complete game changer on how I view laundry as a chore. The money, time and energy I have saved from not having to go to a laundry mat for the majority of my daily laundry is worth every penny I spent on this washer. Does this machine replace a traditional washer in it's entirety? No, at least not this sized machine. That is one of the few downsides is that it is small and easy to overload with one or two items too many, and then it struggles to spin properly. There is also a learning curve on using this machine effectively. Using only a fraction of the laundry detergent, manually rinsing (I use vinegar in the rinse as I air dry everything now, and that really helps soften), and just making the time to be present for each step are all things to adjust to when using this little washer. But let me tell you, my clothes have never been cleaner, brighter or as taken care of as they have been since I started using this washer almost exclusively. There is something about handling each piece as you put it through the washing, spinning, rinsing and final spin that really makes me value my clothes that much more. One of my favorite things about having this mini washer is using it for soaking items easily before washing them. Things like my stained work clothes, my stinky socks, my cleaning cloths and even my hand wash only underwear can have separate loads and all get a soak in their needed cleaner before getting properly washed. OxiClean has become a staple to use as a pre soak on so many items that never got that special attention before. I can now also use bleach on the small amount of white items I own because that is all that fits in a load anyway! Through trial and error, I've found this is my best method for washing. I use my hand held shower head sprayer to fill with warm water, a quarter scoop of OxiClean and 1-1.5 tablespoons of Tide liquid. Load in the clothes, lightly pressing them into the water. Turn on the spin (soft for delicates and thin, not too dirty shirts/shorts/pajamas, normal for heavier fabrics and/or really dirty clothes) and watch the first little spin. If everything is flowing and moving effectively, let it spin for 7-12 minutes. If things aren't moving, take a piece or two out until it is all moving. Doing more smaller loads is better than overloading the machine (you can always reuse water for another load if it's not too dirty). When wash is done, drain and move it all to the spin side for 1-2 minutes, just to get most of the soapy water out for an easier rinse. Rinse out the washer part and fill with cool water and 1/2-3/4 cup of plain white vinegar (I've found you need to use a good amount to get a nice soften when air drying). Add the clothes back in and run 6-9 minutes. Drain, spin for 3-5 minutes (depending on the fabric weight and how much is in the spinner) and dry as you please! Some final notes: I am a petite, 5'2" woman living alone. My clothes are small, mostly light weight fabrics, and I still take my sheets, blankets, big coats and some towels to be washed in larger regular washers and driers. If you are a larger person, a multiple person household or just wear heavier clothes, this may not replace a regular washer for your needs as it has done mine. It may be a great supplementary tool for certain items though, like cleaning cloths, underwear, socks, a small load of whites, etc. ... show more

  • First day using it. Assume it's still working for me if I don't update this review
Some stuff i didn't know: (1) it drains by gravity. If you have a really small bathroom and not a lot of room for sturdy tables, you'll have to do some heavy lifting to get the water out. This machine is light weight without water, but when it's full and you have to lift it up to drain, not so much. (2) The power cord is kinda small. (3) only do 1 pair of jeans at a time otherwise the washer won't spin. (4) make sure you don't have "drain" on while refilling. I made this mistake and I see others do too. This is very easy to miss. (5) the drain hose is also small. Probably should do it in the tub but I couldn't because my power outlet is too far away. And some stuff I knew but good to know: (1) you have to manually do a rinse cycle by draining the soap water out and putting clean water in. (2) the "dryer" side is smaller than the wash side. Some extra stuff you may want: a shower head to refill. An extension for the power cord. A really sturdy table to elevate the machine so it can drain. Something breathable like a disposable sock to put at the end of your pipe so chunks don't clog your drain. A bucket might be good also. I would invest in the biggest version of this because there's no way I can do blankets and some other stuff. But this is really small and light if you want that (easy to hide). Used it to do my laundry and works as other people say it does, this is a good product not spectacular. Although the end result is pretty spectacular actually, my clothes is really really clean but the work to get there drops it down to just good for me (requires a lot more out of you than a standard washing/dryer). Build feels fragile especially for carrying water which makes it heavy and I think I cracked the plastic already in the back and the back plate is kinda misaligned now, nothing too major but again I only used it today. The spin or dryer part actually does a decent job but you still will have to hang dry it. You can actually wear the clothes immediately after use if you dont mind slightly damp clothes for like 15+ minutes (I don't, it's bareable). The dryer failed on me in a couple of ways already. Sometimes it violently shakes (not how it normally shakes, the drum seem to be misaligned and it bangs the clear plastic wall) and I have to stop it, shake it a little bit and start it again then it works, and sometimes it spins very slowly some times because there's too much water resistance on the bottom and sometimes it's just over heated i think??? Idk I hope it'll continue to work itself out over and over again in the future as it did today and I hope it will not be a major issue. Also the water from the washer side bleeds to the "dryer" side a lot but I think that's on me and not knowing how it works fully yet. The noise and vibrations is bareable. May need to hold in place if you're drying jeans or something heavy for 6 minutes or it could move "walk" around. The total time it takes to clean is about half a hour, including rinsing and drying but it taken me like 2+ hours to do 3 shirts, 3 jeans, socks, and underwear mostly cause I'm a newbie learning. Its a million times better than a laundromat. This "feels" like it's going to break on me within a week but I see others kept theirs for years so I don't know. I will update if it does break. ... show more

  • Good for small loads.
While this isnt as convenient time wise as I would like, I still really like the product. I'm only giving it 4 stars for a couple reasons though. First I bought one washer and the spinner basket broke after about 4 cycles. I was able to get the whole unit replaced very quickly by their customer service team which was fantastic ( 5 stars for them) and the new one has worked great. This holds a decent amount of clothes, I can easily wash 5-6 shirts and a pair of pants or a bunch of hand towels. Just keep in mind the spinner basket is smaller than the wash side, so a load may have to be spun4-5 times to do the whole load which can really add to time. Other than that I really have no complaints about it. I use it frequently to wash work shirts/ pants and it's a money saver on taking all my stuff to the laundry mat which is nice. It just still takes about 45 minutes to do a load of clothes so you do kind of have to watch it, but nothing stopping you from working while it's going. ... show more
