When I read these reviews I was worried that this really was going to be unattractive and not stable at all, but I decided to give it a shot because it was less than $20 and our small 550 sq ft apartment has ZERO storage in the bathroom. I am so pleasantly surprised!!! Here is what we have done with this unit: We installed the unit behind our toilet and then lined the shelves with clear plastic shelving liners so that our small bottles of medicine, lotions, etc. wouldn't fall over when placed on the shelves (the only thing I really don't like about metal storage racks in general, not just this particular unit). We use baskets to store our items and we set those up as well on each side of each shelf. So, we have one basket on the top right corner, one basket on the left middle shelf, and one basket on the right bottom shelf. Try not to place heavy items on the middle of the shelves because this is a $20 shelving unit... It is NOT strong enough to hold anything heavier than a large candle from Yankee Candle on the middle of the shelf without slightly giving under the weight. No, it isn't obvious, but if you have a bunch of small bottles on the shelves, they WILL topple over (oops!). This is actually very attractive in our bathroom with our silver accents and I am very happy with this purchase. It looks more expensive than it was, but you can't expect it to be the most sturdy unit in the world. That said, I cannot tip it over by pulling and we haven't had any issues with it wobbling, it's just that the shelves will dip when too much weight is placed in the middle of the shelves- that is what I mean by it not being the MOST sturdy. I definitely suggest this spacesaver if you need storage in your bathroom! ... show more

I bought this obviously because I need some extra bathroom storage. I read a few of the other reviews before buying and wasn't sure how I was going to feel or if I would regret it. I mean it is the cheapest one I could find on Amazon so... yep. Anyways I bought it. I assembled it in less than 20 minutes on my own. I did not install the thingy that attaches it to the wall. It does exactly what I need it to do. I has not fallen or collapsed even one time in the 10 months I have owned it and that is with 1 kid under 1 and 2 kids under 10. I think it's a great buy if you need something simple and cost effective and I would recommend this product. :) ... show more

Very disappointed with this product, even at the bargain price point. The instructions had one part mislabeled, which was confusing. For a moment, I thought I was missing that part. But I was able to figure that out, not too much trouble. Then it got worse. When assembled properly (I triple checked the instructions) there were four holes that did not line up. Two of them were close enough that I could get a screw in partially (see photo) so that was ok, though not ideal. The other two that didn’t line up were necessary for the shelf to be in place. I considered re-drilling the holes, but I did not have the proper tools. Instead, I found a workaround where I could install four poles upside down and make it all fit together. This means the decorative top piece is not connected, just resting on the top (see photo). I understand this is a cheap unit but I don’t think it’s too much to ask that it at least all fits together properly. I also noticed the unit I received looks like the product photos, but does not look like the other review photos. The shelves are a different shape. So I suspect that I received a different product than the ones in the positive reviews. Very unhappy with this purchase, do not recommend taking the chance that you may get shipped one of the duds. ... show more

    • Not Bad, but Could Be Improved

At first, I thought this was going to take a while to put together. It did, but only because I can't see all that well, and I'm careful. First, I had thought this was strictly a free-standing shelving unit, but then, I saw the brackets and screws for mounting to the wall. Okay, so it can be used both ways. But, I do think that some cross-bracing behind would've been a good idea, and I might cut a couple lengths of metal to shore it up, because it likes to wobble side to side. While attaching the shelves, I noted the machine screws securing the shelves to the back tubes, and I thought that was a good way to do it. However, I think sheet metal screws should have been used in front, because a couple of them stripped out the holes for them in the tubing around the front of the shelves. No biggie, because I'm not planning to load the shelves with bricks or anvils; just a few towels, an electric razor, a cordless phone handset and charging base, etc. Making the shelves adjustable up and down would've been a nice touch, because, if I had decided to attach the unit to the wall, the middle shelf would've interfered with the GFCI outlet between the toilet and the vanity. So, it's sitting a couple of inches away from the wall so I can plug my razor in to charge it. There's also the cordless telephone charger that pretty much stays plugged in all the time. Little annoyances, but over all, I don't regret buying the space saver unit. One really good thing that caused me to buy this particular unit was that the brace between the back tubes was high enough to clear where my toilet attaches to the flange in the wall, as this toilet doesn't flush downward, but through the wall behind it. And, I appreciate the measurements provided with the image on the webpage. I was afraid that if I'd bought one of the other units, the shelving unit would be all assembled, and hanging by its brace from the back of the toilet. :-) The measurements were a nice touch, and the brace being high enough to clear that obstacle was also very well done. ... show more

the E part is too wide, couldnt slide into the connecting part. i contacted manufacturer. after back n forth asking me to provide invoice (which amazon never had), finally they agreed to mail me the malfunction part. super good customer service. mine is not wobbly and could screw all the way in. but still need to screw to wall (they provide the screws) for stability (earth quake or accidental bump into shelves) ... show more
