    • Not too hard or too soft
I was in need of a mat that we could put under our aerial set up. One that wasn't too hard if you fell on it but not so soft that you'd hit the ground. This mat is a good combination of hard/soft. When I walk on it, I do sink in to it a little. Another plus is that the vinyl covering isn't like the tumbler mat vinyl coverings. My children are sensitive to sounds and they hate the sound of being on tumble mats. The covering on this mat does not bother them. I have ordered a second mat, as one mat isn't wide enough for my liking. Update: These mats do not have velcro along the side to attach them together. Since I needed them to stay together, I found a solution. I bought two of these pads for my children because they are highly into gymnastics and stunt tricks. I bought these a little concerned about how durable these would hold up for such a purpose, but now that I have had them for a month I have yet to notice any appearance of wear or tear after seeing four teenage boys doing flips and tricks on them day after day. They take them outside on the lawn and will play on them for hours. They hold up in water (and yes I tested it) so they are not very water absorbent and they are mildly plush, just a bit stiffer than a typical mattress and are a perfect size for doing basic exercises on. They fold in half making them easy to store in the garage or just in a closet somewhere and pull them out when needed. Highly recommend that you get these. They are a great deal for their price and shipping was reasonably fast... they actually showed up two days early!!! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We've been using one, now two, as a crash pad for a group of four adults for two to three hours a week for over a month now and it has been wonderful. We are using these on my patio/deck in my back yard, over the top of some basic 1.5" puzzle mats. The deck is part concrete patio/part wood and provides no give or bounce. Landing on the puzzle mats over this deck/patio can be a little rough at times, but these crash mats removed the hard impact feeling and with that the guilt from throwing training partners repeatedly with some of the bigger throws. I would not describe it as squishy, but it has enough give for solid throws. It's less squishy than my clubs Zebra crash pads. They are very easy to clean, fold up nicely for storage, and are not heavy or difficult to move. Things to keep in mind; At times uke's feet would land on the other side of the mat so we've added another one to make a 6' square. Also if you're thinking of using these outside then some shade will be needed, under direct sun they will get very hot. The velcro on them is used more to hold them shut when in storage. You can use the velcro to attach two pads together but it would be along the short edge. (3x12) We picked up generic velcro strips to hold these together in a 6x6 shape. ... show more

Early review. I have added photos. The photo of it upright against a wall or structure is perfect size for my young kids to flip into wall handstands and practice shoulder shrugs and keeps my walls clean. When it is folded in half its the perfect height against a wall to practice certain techniques for flipping. The other is flat on ground you can see it's give on a fall. And then one to just show that it Velcros easily to other mats. This mat and the one it is connected to are different makers. But I was so pleased to see they had a purple to match and it matched perfectly. I will update later on how well it lasts. Received it fast a couple days I think in prime. We have Both a 8' long mat and hook this fall mat up to end. My kids are 7-22 years old. All of them use it. No one had complained when falling that they got hurt. It seems to be doing a great job. I bought two of these mats and am using them in my home rock wall. So far so good! They are stiffer than normal rock climbing mats, but work well for a short fall. The pink one is slightly bigger than the black one and comes with a Velcro strap to cover the crease, which is very nice, but I am not using it since it is not needed. Firm and sturdy I'm sure they will get the job done well. They do get softer over time since I bought the black one first and notice that it is softer than the pink one that just came in. ... show more

    • Perfect! Just what we need as extra protection during aerial work
This mat is high quality and that is very obvious as soon as you see it in person. We are in the process of setting up a a rig for my daughter to practice aerial silks since covid has shut down the school where she trains. She need a good mat for crash protection. We were impressed with the reviews and look of this one online. Our daughter's circus arts coach gave her a thumbs up for it. And we were all even more impressed when we received it.     • Great for breaking falls
I think overall, for its price this is a very decent crash mat. It's not completely soft, so I wouldn't feel comfortable practicing a completely new skill, but if you expect to land on your knees, butt or back (aka not face), it is definitely sufficiently padded. Example skills I have practiced are front flips, side flips, and handstands. It looks very durable and I haven't seen any damage to it yet even though I frequently take it outside. My only issue is the clunkiness of carrying it around, which could have been resolved with a simple handle on the side. However, if you have a car or will only be carrying it for 5-10 minutes at a time, this won't be a concern. ... show more
