I have a very bad fracture in my leg and ankle leaving me totally non weight bearing in that leg. Weight bearing can cause permanent damage. My daughter took this to my car to test it before I used it. It snapped completely in half the first time tried. Looking at it, it's very poorly put together. I cannot in any fashion recommend this.

My stepmother has had both of her hips replaced, and I got this to help her get in and out of the car. Putting this in the door slot and letting her use it as a handle is just what she needs so she can bend down, and still have support without falling. The same way with getting out of the car, it is a big help to have the handle there to give her just a little something to lean on and help boost her up. So it is very useful for its intended purpose. I have not tried the cutting tool on it, and hopefully will never need to. Had to give it 4 stars instead of 5 though because it feels like it should be sturdier. It is very light, and I wish the frame was more metal than plastic. It worries me that when it is supporting someone's weight it could snap, which I wish I didn't have to worry about, but as long as that doesn't happen this is a good item to help get you in and out of the car.

This is a lightweight vehicle support handle. You have to make sure to grab it from the middle of the handle and not towards the edge (near the seat belt cutter) because there is a risk of the end cap falling off. My dad has been using the handle to help him get out of the car due to a leg amputation. He is very thin (about 110 lbs) and has had no issues using the tools. I am unsure if the device would work with someone twice as heavy, though. I would recommend ordering one that had a weight capacity listed.

This is a great concept and it helps my senior citizen mom get inside my truck. I simply have her turn her back to the truck and then boost herself with her left hand on the handle and her right hand pulling herself up from the strap since she can't reach the actual truck's handle. Now, if you hold the grip too far to the end, it will break off since it's not a one piece handle. With the tip gone, there is no easy access to the seatbelt cutter. As an assist device, it works as should be. The plus is that the grip is very well cushioned with foam. It's easier on the hands that way. If you are careful and have relatively small hands, this is a great assist tool. Not sure about the seat belt blade as I am unable to test that out with it broken off the handle. The overhead hang strap is very useful but if you don't have OEM ceiling grip handles, you can't use these. Most if not all backseats have that grip, but not every manufacturer has them in the front seats.

The last few years with injuries and surgeries and few vehicles of our being higher anything that will help life and put me in helps so much and now with having the handle to get out will make taking these vehicles easier for my s.o. Who hates getting out of a lower car.
