They're a nice set of dumbbells. They have like a rubber coating on the on the heavy part. So when you drop them on the floor it doesn't crack your floor. I think it's just a rubber coating though I could be wrong. It could be solid rubber, some kind of heavy rubber. Whatever it is. It's nice and sturdy. They're just what I needed. You know to to be able to get some movement back into my arms. I sit still too much and I need to exercise my movement of my back and my arms cuz sitting still and working on your phone all day is not good for you so I thought I'd exercise a little bit. These weights have a nice feel to them with a slightly rounded grip with a not too rough texture through the center. They feel solid and balanced in the hand and great to work out with. They arrived with a kind of greasy film over the entirety but mainly on the rubber ends with a very strong scent. I washed them both with soap and water and the greasiness is better but the scent is still lingering. After working out I notice the scent on my hands as well. It does seem to be fading but it has been a few weeks now and I still notice when passing by my weight rack.

This is a pretty standard style for hand weights. I've been piecing together a collect of dumbbells and needed a set of 5 pounders to complete my set. These match perfectly to what I already have. The only thing I will mention on these is that they do have an initial odor to them - but this has been true for any rubber-based weights that I've bought. It dissipated after a day or two and I no longer notice it. But if you are sensitive to smells, please keep this in mind. Aside from this - the weights are great, match my other ones perfectly, and I am happy!

Nothing fancy, just what you’d expect. Weights feel good and the textured handles make them easy to grip. They had a slight smell when I first got them, but it went away after a day. Overall, solid dumbbells and exactly as advertised!

The Good: Nice set of 5 pound weights for low impact exercise. I use the on my office treadmill to build stamina. Handles have good grip due to the texture, and the bells are coated in rubber/plastic to protect the office floor. The Bad: It was a 6 week wait for these to arrive. Overall: I work on a military base in the Middle East, and I'm building a small gym in my office. I have a small treadwheel, a roman chair, and now these low impact weights. These will help me to burn more calories. Other than the delay, I'm happy with the order.

These are quality small hand weights. They are very sturdy and easy to handle. Great for beginners to strengthen arms and shoulders. I like that they have a nice heavy duty weight to them. Great product to add to your exercise equipment.

Nothing special, and just as advertised. Hex dumbbells, textured metal handle. As is typical on weights, they do have a slight chem smell upon arrival, but that dissipated after sitting out in my home gym. Weight is true to advertised 5lb weight, and would recommend these!
