This is a perfect quality-of-life (and feature) upgrade for the HD 6XX/650. A much better feeling cable than the OEM, with additional versatility in its ability to connect to balanced outputs.     • Falls apart within a year
bought 2 of them over the last two years and they both have failed via the cable failing at the connectors (one of the three smaller cables will rip). Lowest price for 4.4mm balanced though so you get what you pay for. Might be worth investing alittle more for a better cable and I will be getting one with a braided cable to see if that helps with this issue however ... show more

This is a really great cable. No microphonics. The assembled cable is quite flexible. The jack is high quality. The looks are really good. Left side is left side and right side is right side. You can't ask for more.

    • Broke way too quickly
I had the product for 2-3 months and the wire pulled apart from the pins and broke from normal everyday use. The sound quality was great. The build quality was not.

    • Great aftermarket cable for those who want balanced for HD 650
I bought this to get more power into my Sennheiser HD 650 via my questyle M15 dongle's balanced output. IT made a huge difference in the soundstage and details I can hear now with the sennheiser, and a much lighter cable than the stock one. I don't notice any change in sound quality (not a real audiophile, just a music lover). NOw I can enjoy my headphones on the go with just a dongle ... show more

    • Noticeable Bad Cord Sound

The cable itself performs as expected with no real difference to the original cable that came with my HD 650's. It is a bit strange/annoying having them lead to a 7.7mm male which may in many cases (including my own) may require some sort of adapter to be useable which may be the reason for the "largely refunded" description I saw on the cable. The annoying sound comes from the cable itself when moving your head in any form you can hear the cable moving & scraping around the connection point, it's mostly only auidble when nothing is playing through the headphones but it's definitely something I noticed straight away. Overall I'd say stick with the original cable your Sennheisers come with, especially if you have to go through the hassle of getting an adapter. ... show more

    • A surprisingly robust little cable
I'm used to cheap 6xx balanced cables being prone to severe stiffness and eventually having a single bit of the cable snap because of it. This has surprised me by lasting over two months in a portable use case where I do dumb stuff like accidentally yank it.
