I didn't have a dedicated USB port in my Jeep and really need a pair of them for a modification I recently did. What I did have was that cruddy, worthless clip thing on the lower part of the dash on the opposite side from the cigarette lighter, so I checked it out and sure enough, all I had to do was twist the clip piece and lift it out, insert this USB port and tighten the nut on the back to the dash. I soldered the two wire leads to the power and ground wires of the cigarette lighter and was good to go. Took less than 10 minutes at the most. Easy Peasy! Both ports work well and it has a bright, easy to read blue digital readout of the power your battery is putting out. Great for keeping an eye on your power levels. Now I have two dedicated USB ports, a cigarette lighter (which holds an adapter that has USB ports in it, and one extra always hot port in my console. I'm good to go! Would recommend this item whole heartedly, and would buy again if necessary!

I installed this in the upper fairing on my KLR 650 using a hole saw and it has been a great dual-port charger! Quality: 4/5 The housing is plastic, and the mounting ring to hold it against a panel felt a little weak, but it has held up wonderfully against driving rain, water crossings, desert dust, multiple drops and impacts, and sunlight. The terminal clamp connectors were quality and I haven't had any issues with wires coming loose. The voltmeter readout is difficult to read in direct sunlight, but this hasn't impacted me too much. Electrical Power: 5/5 No issues with devices overdrawing the transformer, even with two devices charging at max rate. It gives clean, reliable power, and the voltmeter readout is very closely calibrated with my multimeter (+/- 0.1V). Ease of Install: 5/5 The locking ring and quick-disconnect clamps make installing it behind a panel really easy! The diameter fits nicely with a hole saw hole with minimal sanding to get it to fit, so that was another nice feature. Overall, good quality product, and I look forward to many years of adventure biking while charging my devices from this charge port!

Works great and looks great in my boat. He photos do not show the voltage display, but it looks great. I wired it into my ignition on and accessory supply in order to keep battery draw off of the voltage display when not in use.

I bought two of these, one for my car and one for my pickup. As others have said, it's a little bigger than the standard cigarette lighter socket. So I had a difficult time making it work in the pickup, which has a cigarette lighter located inside a pullout ashtray. I had to do some heavy modifications to make it work. However on my car I was able to push really hard and twist it into the existing hole in the plastic dash. It was so tight that I didn't bother putting the plastic nut on the backside. Both seem to charge my phone pretty fast, much better than the cheap adapters that don't charge as fast as your phone discharges while using GPS. I'm satisfied, and it is nice to see the battery voltage on my car, a 2009 Honda, which doesn't have a ampmeter in the dash. I removed the little plastic cover and leave it exposed all the time.

These fit right into replace a cigarette lighter hole, very convenient. Only thing I'd say is the blue I got is pretty bright. At night it reflects off my drivers side window, as I drilled a hole left of the steering wheel. It's nothing I cant fix with some tape, but just know if you're mounting near the side of your vehicle, you could see it reflect in your window at night. I would get the red LED next time, as that would be slightly dimmer. Overall I'd buy this again, I bought 3 and have used 2 so far. Very nice item. Oh and the best part! It's a pseudo gauge for your batteries health! The display reads the voltage on your battery so you get an early warning if your battery is dying and you need a new one. Normal operating (while car is on) will be around 14.5 volts, 12.4 or so when it's off. So if you're driving and you start to see your voltage drop below 13.5 or so, you may want to run a battery test.

I wish the LED display color was selectable because a reflection of a blue LED display in my windshield or rearview is the last thing I want while driving at night. However the charge port does charge my phone quite quickly and is easy to install. I actually just got 2 more to install in a few more of our vehicles.
