This unit is not Sturdy because unlike the HEAVIER DUTY models this model does not have the "screw" that is used to join (splice) each of the 2 post segments together. Which is why it is not rated as sturdy. To solve the problem, I joined each of the 2 short post segments together as instructed to make the four single full height posts. Next, I took a 2-to-3-inch piece of clear "Shipping" (NOT cellophane) tape and rolled it around the post at the splice where the 2 segments joined. You cannot even see the tape if done carefully and neatly. After assembly I can now lift the entire shelf by the posts without the post separating. And the unit is sturdy for my needs. You still need to respect the mfr's per shelf weight limit. Hope this helps. ... show more

I needed a specific width for a small space, the other I had purchased was terribly wobbly/not sturdy so it got returned. This one was same easy assembly of similar wire racks, yes the shelves only go one way due to tapered points at the corners (edges face up on shelf). The shelf is sturdy and holds both clothing and small boxes well ( have not measured weight). The white color is nice and actually has white plastic clasps vs the black on other white wire shelves so they do not stand out. Despite the positives, I do feel the price is too high therefore deducted a star. Sadly, there are not many options that would fit my needs so I think I am sticking with it. ... show more

Had a very slim space next to a dresser that I used for various heavy boxes. Previously only had a 3 tier plastic storage dresser there so I wanted to upgrade. Was afraid this one would not be sturdy enough because each shelf I'd holding about 50lbs. Turns out it works just fine. The only thing I would change is to have the shelves flat on top instead of the lip. Since I store boxes on them it makes it a little tricky to slide them in and out. Other than that I also used a rubber hammer to tap the shelves into place to secure them tightly with the plastic stops. It really cleaned up my room.     • Terrible quality control--Buyer beware
The item arrived missing all of the S hooks and with 4 clips that appear to be the wrong size. The assembly instructions are not clear but they certainly don't address having clips of two completely different sizes (one of which is far too wide for the pole and wider than the hole, so cannot fit inside the hole). I have contacted the seller to ask for them to send the correct parts to complete the assembly. If they send the correct parts, I will update the review to reflect it. It's unfortunate that this happened, as I like writing positive reviews whenever I can. So far, it seems like it has potential to be a nice shelf if it can be properly assembled. We wanted a shelf that was narrow for our entryway that could hold gloves, boots, coats, a purse, and a backpack (bottom shelf), allowing wet items to dry. This is a very small shelf, which is what we wanted, and the measurements worked out perfectly with what we were expecting. The metalwork looks good and the plastic liners are nice to have for keeping the floor dry. I hope that we are able to get the rest of the parts! Update 3/2/19-- I had 3 contacts with the seller requesting them to send the missing parts on 2/14, 2/17, and 2/18. The answers I got back were largely unclear, so I reached out again and again, trying to get a clear answer about whether they were sending replacement parts or just stating that they could do something about it, as they gave no indication of actually planning to send them. In the mean time, I went to the hardware store and bought hooks separately but I still needed the clips. On the third contact, they said that they planned to send a total replacement rather than specific parts. Okay, cool, that's alright too... To their credit, two boxes arrived on 2/28. I thought this was a bit strange, since I only needed the S hooks and a bag of clips. So, I open the first box and find that 1/3 of the poles are missing, as are the S hooks that were supposed to be sent. Looking at the packaging, I realize they sent a returned shelf, as it was a bit scuffed up and not packaged the same way as the new ones. Still, that would have been okay had it included the correct parts. I arranged all the parts in order and open the second box. In the second box, there are bags of clips missing, no instructions included, and still no S hooks! If each of these two boxes was supposed to be a total replacement, they massively failed since both boxes were missing essential parts, as was the original. So, I'm bumping up to 3 stars because the seller sort of tried and I definitely still like the shelf, but it's not getting 5 stars, as quality control is abysmally bad, especially for an item which states in the product description, "YOHKOH WARRANTY: We guarantee 100% satisfaction. 1, We provide refund and exchange services about any problems; 2, Our technical staff can solve the problem within 24 hours in the installation. Please feel free to contact us via AMAZON BUYER MESSAGE." So, hilariously, of the 3 shelves we were mailed, we got the equivalent of two full shelves in 3 packages. We were missing too many parts for even a partially built third shelf. I was hoping I could at least build an extra tall shelf to make use of the extraneous baskets but since they sent mostly just top poles, they weren't usable. I'm not complaining too much being that we got a bunch of scrap parts for free but I am still annoyed by the poor quality control and lack of sending a product as advertised (missing the S hooks in all 3 boxes). It's also a bit odd to have them unload a bunch of their junk parts on us willy nilly. All of that said, I do like these shelves. If I trusted the seller at all, I would consider buying again. But I definitely don't trust the seller and definitely would not recommend it to be purchased via Amazon. Get something equivalent in person somewhere where you can guarantee the parts are all there or easily return it. ... show more
