I have the original which is fairly large. I wanted something for travel and saw this so thought I would try it out. took on a 15 day trip and it was excellent. it lasts about 2 days with a single charge though I charged it during the day. has multiple sounds but I stuck with the original sound. all sounds are electronic (unlike the original which has fans in it). this can be turned up very loud to mask outside sounds and does an excellent job at that. Just got this. Had their original sound machine for years and use it every night. Got this little one for travel. Charged it up and used it for two nights with no issues. Maybe the charge lasted that long because we don't use the night lite. We like the white noise setting and it is plenty loud enough. Also. like the USB-C charging. Only minor complaint is, as others have said, the controls are hard to read and are on the bottom of the device. ... show more

I bought this for a trip to Europe where I would be sharing a room with another chaperone. This thing is AMAZING. It completely surpassed all my expectations and I know it contributed significantly to me being able to sleep well at night and be rested each morning! I guess this would be perfect for travel, but it also works for my grandchildren who spend the night. For them I use both the nightlight and the sound machine--white noise--and they are happy. I love how small and cute it is. This has been the best travel purchase I have made in years! The sound machine is loud, the light is dimmable, it is very compact, and you get enough charge to use it for two full nights unplugged. I typically asleep with a fan, but the noise this puts out is a great replacement while traveling.

The size is great - it's super small but plenty loud. I don't know if I can trust the battery all night so I connect it to my backup battery. Not worth the risk on a jet lag trip.
