The material is like a thin canvas-like material and doesn't seem to be see through. It's plenty long for normal height ceilings and it hung up very easily. We're very happy with it!

Love the canopy but it didn't come with materials needed to install, which is in the description. I did an exchange stating the item was missing some items. Got the new item really fast but the same thing happened, it's still missing the components to install the canopy.
