I bought this to replace a much larger rectangular coffee table that just didn’t fit the space well. Figured for the price, this coffee table (square espresso) would be adequate for my needs and didn’t expect a high end solid wood product. I was wrong. No, it isn’t solid oak but this is one heavy, well made, middle of the road piece of furniture. The directions are very clear but I will admit my stomach sank when I read that it required 2 or more people to assemble it. Still I persevered and went ahead, laying out the pieces & screws as directed by the pictures. Did try using an electric drill to make things easier vs the small screwdriver provided as there are over 100 assorted assembly screws etc. Use the screwdriver. Also recommend making sure the wood screw holes are clear and pre-screw the holes to make sure they will go in easily. It was still a tight fit for each screw that required the small Allen wrench. I actually dropped a larger Allen wrench in the parallel hole to help keep things lined up and facilitate the ease of tightening. Everything fit well together - no gaps; don’t even bother thinking wood glue might be a nice addition. I’m thrilled with this piece! Total assembly time: 2.5hr **Not bad for an old lady (71) with arthritis and whose only help was an 85lb dog!

I like the table. It’s very well made and attractive. But…I could NOT put it together by myself. I had to hire a handyman to help me. I had to pay him $205, so what was an inexpensive table turned into an expensive one. There was no way I could return it. I wouldn’t have been able to get it back in the box and it was way too heavy for me to anything but drag it in the box. And it would not have fit in my car even if I could’ve gotten it in there. So it was either throw it away and waste the money I spent on it, or hire someone to help me. I’m glad I hired someone, but I wouldn’t have bought it if I’d known it took two people to assemble, since I don’t have anyone. And I’ve put together lots of furniture. I’ve just never run into anything this hard.

I received me first order damaged and when the replacement came it was damaged too. I was so frustrated by the time the second one comes, I just decided to keep the second one and use a brown marker to cover the scratches. I got tired of rebuilding of the dang thing!

Listen to the reviews about assembly!! This Product has multiple defects in its manufacturing. About 2 steps from completion i’ve run into an issue making it impossible to complete the build. The Diagram does not align with the finished product. In my picture I’ve marked where the screw holes should have been, as per the diagram, and you can see where they are. The screw holes required are not in the right place, and they are Allen screws making it impossible to try and make new screw holes. I’m going to have to buy screws and drill new holes with them. Overall The quality of the table would have been good if it weren’t for these defects. Its been incredibly frustrating, and Even more so that its almost complete.

Don’t listen to the reviews - this thing is NOT hard to put together. If you’re used to assembling flat-packed furniture like this, you’ll have absolutely no problem. We did use a drill to make things go by faster. It feels very sturdy and heavy. We love it!! Highly recommend.
