Looks great in images, but reality is much different. Bolts were in dirty baggies and majority were rusted! My shelf came without instructions so I had to look them up here on Amazon. Downloaded those only to find out I'm missing anchoring system and 4 bolts to connect X on back of bookshelf. Also, upon connecting both upper and lower metal frames, discovered they do NOT sit flush on either side. Frames don't align properly leaving seam sharp and bit crooked. Had to hammer so not to leave sharp metal exposed or uneven edges. After 3 hours of hell and sustaining painful cuts, and bruises the shelf is built, but unstable without X. After "difficult" experience and poor quality of product and hardware I regret my purchase! ... show more

This is the ultimate review for this display shelf. This review contains important information that you will not find in other reviews. First off, this case is incredibly well made. My desk is constructed in a similar way (but by a different company) so the assembly was relatively straightforward. The instructions are so simple you'd need to not understand a manual to screw this up. Pay attention and you'll do fine. I got mine done in 45 minutes. People may have complained about not finding the instructions. They didn't look in the box enough. If you flip the box over to the bottom and open it, the manual is there. Woohoo. You may see bad reviews about the shelves not aligning with the holes. Yes, they do. It took a bit to figure out the correct orientation, but I every screw in each shelf and bracket. You may see bad reviews about it not being wood. Obviously it's not wood. It's particle board. It's pretty particle board at that. The one thing that got me to buy this shelf was how much junk it could fit in such a compact area. As you can see from the pictures, I have model kits, trains, 23 Lego sets, movie props, a couple action figures and a Vader helmet. All fit comfortably on here. Is it sturdy? Yeah, unless you throw something hard at it or bump into it really hard. It's not gonna come down on its own. I have extremely shaggy carpet AND didn't need to use the included shelf to wall mount. It does lean a tad but it's not enough to move the cars at all. The quality wasn't impressive for 180 dollars (figure taxes into the price, that's what I paid.) The metal parts came scratched on the tops and a shelf even had gotten hit and broken off. Luckily I was able to position that shelf to where it faced the wall. No problems. I can attribute the damage to either the warehouse loading crew being fast and dropping it or UPS dropping my package. (I work at FedEx so I know how it works.) Am I satisfied? Yep. There wasn't anything better that could fit in that exact space, and with the size of my bed and desk, nothing else could be rearranged. The entire case is 47 inches long and around 70 inches tall, with a depth of 11 inches. The middle usable part of each shelf measures 28 or 29 inches so keep that in mind if you have large model kits. My 1/350 scale Titanic didn't fit (31 inches long.) Advice: - you can use the included Allen wrench, but I'd recommend going out and getting a torque wrench set or even a torque screwdriver that you can put different bits into. I had tools laying around that worked just fine. The included wrench worked but it became a pain after 30 minutes of tightening the nuts. - take your time. If you work efficiently and pay attention, you'll have it done in 45 or so minutes. You'll be a bit sore but you'll have a beautiful shelf. Final verdit: if you want a dope looking display shelf system, this is it. They shipped it in 2 days with standard shipping. That's incredible. It was supposed to get here a full week or so after purchase, but it got here 2 days later. Amazing. Are you about to spend 180 dollars on this? Yes. But hey, at least you didn't spend 250. I wanted a tall shelf that matched the desk I bought. The desk is a different manufacturer. Both are “rustic” with black and they look great next to each other. I have another shelf and bar stools from different manufacturers that are also “rustic” and they also blend together as a set. If you also bought other pieces and are wondering if it will match, my guess it that it will. This is the 5 shelf set. It comes as 3+2. The frame stacks one over the other. So there is a slight seem. It doesn’t bother me and it still feels sturdy. It comes with zip ties to anchor it to the wall. If I had children I would do this but it is sturdy without them (for 2 adults that don’t have a lot of people over) I don’t own my place and didn’t want to put anchors into the wall. ... show more

It came 4 days early which was a pleasant surprise. For an 87 year old it went together easily in 2 hours (needed rest breaks). Very attractive showplace for my Lego Technic models. All the holes were lined up perfectly and extra bolts were included in case one was misplaced. Box was very heavy. I am 6'3 and 230 lbs and it was heavy for me. Way to heavy for most women. So easy to put together. Looks amazing and exactly what I wanted. Very happy with the product. Price great and looks like I paid more for it. Sturdy and seems long lasting. I was worried to buy it online. The price was fair and better then other similar models. It was packed with care and very organized. The material is of excellent quality. It took me about 45 minutes to put it together because I was taking lots of breaks. It is exactly what I wanted. I secured it to the wall with the attached materials. Also my floor is uneven so I really appreciated that the little screw on feet can be adjusted. I am absolutely satisfied! Go for it! ... show more

Great shelf, fairly easy to put together, came with extra parts, so that is a plus, my only complaint is that there was edge damage to two of the shelves, not horrendous, but my husband the perfectionists was a bit upset. The only complaint was that the packaging was damaged when delivered and inside, one of the support rods that crosses at the back had a fault with the nail holes. Luckily none of that made much of a difference. Very pleased with the book shelf. Looks very nice!
