I was originally going to get a competitor's bookshelf from here which cost more but came in the color scheme that I wanted. That bookshelf became discontinued quickly and there was no indication that it was coming back. I scoured Amazon and found this gem. It had all the same specs as the discontinued one and the black frame/white shelves color scheme. The thing that I appreciate that the other one didn't have was the support bars in the back as well as each shelf edge having a diagonal bar on it. You can put books on it and use only one bookend or weight. Last but not least it was $20 less than the discontinued one. Just because it was cheaper doesn't mean that it lacked in quality. So you know what I did with that $20 saved? I went to WalMart and bought a few cans of Spray Paint. (Yeah, I didn't buy it here because WalMart had it for much cheaper, like 1/2 the price cheaper). Anyway, I spray painted the entire black frame & hardware metallic gold. I assembled it, I mean got it assembled in about 40 mins. Talk about easy assembly! I got lucky because the package was delivered with no damage. It even arrived a day early too! I am so happy with my bookcase and I love looking at it. I don't get compliments on it because it's a pandemic out there and no one can come over to see it yet! Get this bookcase and add a touch of flair to your home!

Honestly, I was a little worried because all I saw were review pictures of this bookcase against a wall and I wanted it to separate my sleeping space from my living space since I live in a studio apartment. After building it to my surprise it was VERY sturdy. Even after cluttering it up, it remains sturdy. It's the perfect bookcase style and size that I was looking for. 10/10 would recommend this product to anyone looking for a modern not too big, not too small bookcase!

We have the house re-floored this fall. I can no longer tolerate the two old cheap bookshelves from Walmart quite a few years ago and moved them to the garage. They just don't fit. The new bookshelf is classic cherry which matches the oak floor pretty well. And the modern style is fabulous. All pieces are well wrapped and protected with foam board in the box. No scratching at all. The assembling is very simple with the tool included. I did it in about 20 minutes in the laundry room to not scratch the floor. Then I found It too heavy to move by myself smoothly. After placed in position, I tried to shake and feel it is sturdy enough. There are another two pieces in the package to screw the bookshelf to the wall for falling prevention which seems unnecessary. After two weeks I learned a fact that I should choose the oak style. Dust is very clear on the surface of deep color like cherry. But it is my favorite color.

I love love love how this shelf looks. I have it in my bedroom to hold some critter terrariums. Though it looks awesome I would've loved to have realized earlier that where the metal stick things holding it up on the left and right side have smaller metal diagonal bars that go from the front to the back preventing me from really putting anthing in that exact spot. I just never got that impression from the photos, that was my bad. I assumed everything just happened to be in the middle or way over on the far right and left sides. Not at all a product error. I love this shelf. I just would've loved to have realized that before.

I bought this book self for my son home office, since the pandemic he’s been working from home. So we set up office for him. This bookshelf size for the office, it’s easy to assemble, as long you pay attention to the instructions, and make sure face everything properly. I got it set up in less than 30 minutes. It’s very sturdy and well build. This bookshelf have 5 tiers which give him a lot levels to put his work documents and supplies for work, It’s spacious, great space saving. I love the color of the wood, and the design of this bookshelf. it matches other furniture in the office. He been use it for over four months. It stand strong and still in perfect condition. Great values of what I paid for. Planning to buy another one when my husband work from home more.

the three bottom shelves all had the same problem. The build quality wasn't consistent, and the diagonal cross-sections are crooked, causing the whole thing to stand slightly off-balance? My floor is carpeted so I think that actually saves it. When I placed it on a flat surface it wobbled and didn't stand straight. Also, each shelf has 4 screws to be connected to the scaffolding. On each of the bottom 3 shelves, only 2 screws lined up. ONLY the 2 left ones which definitely ruins the stability, but a 3rd screw on the right could be forced in at a slight angle, and a 4th just no way, the hole was off by about a millimeter and just could not get the last screw in. It seems to stand fine as long as it's on the carpet and you don't load it with heavy things. I mean, $150 should have it be built decently enough I'd think, but it does look good and maybe you'll have a better manufactured one?

This unit is very sturdy and looks great in my office. I like the fact that it comes with wall mounts to prevent it from falling over if pulled, but it doesn't feel top heavy or unbalance at all. I was worried when I received it that it was damaged because shipping had banged it around pretty good, but the entire shelf was wrapped in foam so the contents were fine. I'm thinking about buying another.
