My son is 5’2” tall, weighs 84 lbs, is slim in the hips, and usually wears a size 12. When ordering, I noted that previous reviewers mentioned the pants running small and so sized up to the 14-16. While they are a slight bit long, they are still wearable this season and might be next as well. The pants are well constructed, and my son especially liked how soft the inner fleece lining was. We will try them out when we head up to the mountain later this winter with long johns layered underneath, but I would probably be inclined to bring his thicker snow pants along in case these didn’t prove warm enough. I feel like they would be excellent wind/rain resistant pants if we were to take him to an outdoor sporting event, and I think he will easily be able to wear them to school on cold wet days this winter without needing to change into other clothes once he arrives. I will start off by saying I really like these pants but I am not quite so sure I would call them snow pants, which is what I was looking for. They feel almost like a thicker workout pant. The inside is lined with a fleece like material for warmth. My son actually likes wearing them around the house lol. My son is an averaged sized 6 year old. He wears a size 6 or a boys small. I bought these in a Medium and they almost fit him perfectly, they are just a little baggy. That tells me that these probably run small. I got L for my 7 year old. They fit right but will only fit her this winter and I got it bigger expecting to use it for two seasons. The L is like a 7/8 USA size. The waist is stretchy and the pants are on the slimmer side. I will prefer them to be a little wider as snow pants are supposed to be used over regular pants, so depending what kind of pants my kid is using, may feel too thigh. The pants feel very thin and are soft to the touch, not plastic like other insulated pants or snow bibs. They doesn't have the elastic at the end of the legs that go inside the boots like other snow pants we have used before. I think those pants are decent but not good for extreme cold weather or hardcore snow play. ... show more

Likes: They fit my 10 year old well. They have a soft inner fleece lining. The waterproofing seems to work, I attached a video of faucet water rolling off the pants. Dislikes: They seem thin to use as ski pants and they don’t have a double pant bottom to tuck into boots and keep the snow out.

These are great snow pants. They fit my 10 year old well, over a pair of jeans, and easily have enough room in the elastic waist and legs to last him a year or two before he outgrows them. The fabric at the knees is a little looser, maybe even stretchier, than the rest. Made kneeling & bending easy. On the inside it's a nice soft fleece. With the right layering, these should be able to handle any weather he's in on the slopes or the sled this winter. They have a highly reflective stripe across the thigh on the front. Unfortunately, nothing on the back, so we'll have to make sure his coat does so he can be easily seen after dark. Two zippered pockets with good pulls for use with gloves. Lastly these are gender generic enough that I hope they last for his little sister to use in a few years. ... show more

Model is 40" tall, 35lbs, ordered 5/6. These are great! I ordered a size up on purpose to allow room for growth. They have a fleece lining and are made of water wicking material. The elastic band makes them easy to get on and off. The pockets are zippered to keep items from falling out. Reinforced knees. I like that they are warm but lightweight so they aren't too bulky and allow full range of movement. Exactly what I was looking for. The hem at the bottom does not stretch out if you plan to wear with large boots. Washing directions and material source are a little difficult to determine, but they feel like polyester so I don't plan on using any special cleaning methods. ... show more

The quality & sizing seem great. I ended up returning as the color is defiantly closer to a dark pink, not red. And the purple is much brighter than my screen shows. I ordered them for my son, thinking they were red & a dark plum color. They are pink & purple, great for a little girl.

    • Very nice but not traditional snow pants
Snow pants normally run big to accommodate layering underneath to stay warm. The biggest part of these is they don't need layers under them. The fabric is comfortable and the fleece lining does what it's supposed to do, keep you warm. Since you don't need layers the sizing runs really true, if you are looking for layers definitely order a few sizes up. Overall the fit is nice as they are not bulky which allows movement, for kids that is a huge plus. With temperatures already in the 20’s my son remains warm with just thermal pants under them.
