This monster can hold 8 pounds of ice without issue. It keeps the cold from condensing on the outside. I think the base might get some moisture so place it on something to keep the table dry. After about 8 hours, half of the ice remains when it’s about 70 degrees out (lid on, untouched).

Wife and I use it when we hang by the fire pit or the pool and drink margaritas or mojitos. Just add ice from the bucket and presto Coolio you got a cold drink… ice stays cold for a solid 6 hours even with opening and closing… need to get one….I kid you not!!!

I’ve been waiting for Yeti to make an ice bucket. This bucket really works. I left ice in it for 12 hours with the lid on to see what would happen. About 3 inches melted. That’s way better than any other bucket I’ve ever used. People are rating it lower because you can’t put bottles in with ice and put the lid on. It’s an ice bucket. It rocks (pun intended) at its intended purpose. It is definitely pricey. I used my Whole Foods credit card points so I didn’t feel guilty buying it.
