I have never worked with hardware cloth before and was surprised at how sharp this stuff could be, even on factory edges. But got it installed on my chicken run to protect the mini dino's from predators. Cut it with a angle grinder with a metal cutting wheel (just a note, be careful with cutting wheels, they are very easy to break when putting down. Always wear safety glasses with cutting wheels because it could get a hairline crack very easily and come flying off at tremendous speeds). The hardware cloth's galvanizing became chalky after being out in the weather a few times. Not sure if this is normal or not, we'll see. At the time I purchased it, it was the cheapest 4 x 100 foot roll available on Amazon.

I’ve never purchased a 50’ roll of hardware cloth before so I wasn’t sure what to expect with respect to manufacturing quality and hence the caveat. First the good side. The product is 3’ tall, the wire is thickness is 0.035”, the plating looks good, and for the most part the welds are strong. Now for the not so good side. In the first 25’ I found six defects (see photos for examples). This is a much higher defect rate than stated in the manufacturer’s description. Some, including myself, may say that’s OK because they’re cosmetic and did not impact the functionality and how I plan to use the hardware cloth. Others may say that’s unacceptable and should be given something less than 4-stars. For those people that’s why I gave the headline ‘with a caveat’. If you do not want or are willing to accept these types of defects then I would not recommend the YESON Hardware Cloth. If you only consider them cosmetic flaws that do not change the functionality of the product then I would recommend the YESON Hardware Cloth.

This is pretty good hardware cloth for the price ($80.99/50 ft). While it's not the highest quality stuff, it's perfectly fine for keeping animals out of your garden beds or chicken coops. This is true to size and, again, is priced very well for a roll this size. Overall, if you need some good, basic hardware cloth for a good price, this is a great option! However, I wouldn't recommend this if you need very heavy duty stuff.

This wire mesh fencing works great. We live in the woods and have had deer, squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, mice, and birds pick through our garden planter boxes. Instead of giving up I built an open frame with hinged sides and used the mesh to cover it. The side opens so we can weed and care for the plants. When closed this stuff keeps out the critters while allowing sun, wind, rain, and pollen spreading insects in. Great quality product that I expect will last for years.
