I had been searching far and wide for a large, waterproof, pannier bag that converted into something I could carry around school/work during the day, and after finding nothing at a reasonable price point at REI I turned to Amazon. This hits all the marks. Seems to be well constructed and, while I haven’t been caught in the rain with it yet, it seems legitimately waterproof. The pannier mounting mechanism is great (it clicks into place in a way that—with my rack—prevents it from falling off when I hit a bump), it can hold a ton of stuff (multiple books, computer, sweater, and lunch), and has some useful internal pockets (in addition to the built-in laptop sleeve). I really like this bag and I have had a few before this , i use it daily with my ebike , the only thing is everytime it rains , there is a little water in the bag not much , I can't figure out how it's getting in , aside from that I love it wish it was wider to hold more, my ebike can easily fit 4 of these bags on the rear rack 2 on each side, though easier to carry 2 , it's my first quick conect to frame bag and I love it , solid bag ... show more

    • it's a great fit for a Martin Backpacker Guitar for fair weather travel

I just tested this pannier with a Martin Steel String Backpacker Travel Guitar with Bag. (2012 year or thereabouts.) The neck sticks out of the top exactly12 inches but other than that it seems like a great way to get the guitar around town etc. in fair weather. You'd need something waterproof to cover the top 12 inches of the guitar for rainy weather. Something you could trust. When closed, the pannier seems completely waterproof unless you hold it under water. But I doubt that you'll ever get water inside while it's on your bike and rolled closed as the pictures show. Other than transporting small thin guitars every now and then, my main thing is how many 1.75 Liter bottles of rum can I bring home from the store in one trip when stocking up for the winter months. The answer seems to be 2 bottles easily with room between them for padding. This pannier is a little bit heaver than what I'm used to but it should hold up very well for many years no matter what I put it through. I should mention that I'm a novice bicyclist and have never been more than 50 miles in a day or camped over night. So please use that as your gauge. If you're hardcore cross country, you may want better gear. But for me, it's perfect. ... show more

This a good commuter bag. You can strap it to the bicycle and then use it as a shoulder messenger bag to commute. It's a large bag 17 inches by 11 inches. There's a laptop padded sleeve and two smaller pockets for others things. You don't have to worry about rain, just wipe the drops away. It's nice to fold the top to make it smaller.
