Was trying to replace the center AC console vent when i replaced my stereo, it broke some plastic tabs on it. Searched and bought 2x different replacements and all were from used VW's. All broken tabs in the same spot. This tray takes out the vent and removes the "open and close" vent switch, and leaves it in the "on" position. This does not take away the defrost vents. This converts the center top vent (that in my opinion didn't really do much) to a tray. Worked for me, would buy again. ... show more

Perfect storage tray! Careful pulling old pieces out as they may be brittle. Install was straight forward. You may consider getting the dash vent and radio trim too when purchasing this piece. That way you can change it all in one swoop.

Great alternative to the OEM piece but mine did not sit flush, the driver side sits just a bit higher, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Take your time and make sure you have a magnet attached when taking out the T20 screws and you're good to go, super easy to install.

Better than the pointless air vent that is in its place. I now place my phone or wallet in there while I'm driving. The downside is that on a hot sunny day it overheats the phone so I have to be careful. Other than that very easy to install.
