Like most owners of 2007 GM Trucks my dash had started to crack, originally I had put a carpet type cover on it when I ran across this cover on Amazon. I ordered it and honestly forgot about it until last week due to various illnesses in the family. I removed the 'carpet type' cover from my dash and was shocked to see how many MORE cracks had developed and then placed the Dashskin cover on it. It fit PERFECTLY to the point I questioned whether or not I even needed to glue it. I decided to just let it set for a week on the dash and let the sun / heat help loosen it up and even used the included foam inserts and the vehicles doors to snug up the fit on the inside. After a week I used the included adhesive to permanently mount the cover. One word of advice - be SURE to wipe all adhesive off that may spill, a drop fell on my work shirt and I feel confident it will NEVER come off which leads me to believe the DashSkin cover will never come off. In my experience, I cannot find any negatives about the cover, it fits well, it looks great, the color and texture matched. Best $160 spent ever. ... show more

Used it to replace a badly cracked dash on an '07 Suburban. Got someone who has installed them before. Fits perfectly! The cracks need to be glued back as well as can be or the rattling will continue. There are several products one can use that fits on the old dash under the new DashSkin cover

Fit perfect and perfect match to the dash. Easy to install. It's on for a couple of years now. No issues at all. I could advise to remove any cracked pieces of your original dash. Or even run pretty thick beads of silicone on any large cracks to ensure the original dash doesn't start to rattle under this cover. ... show more

I was skeptical at first because I saw cheaper ones that would fit. Im so glad I spent the extra money because this thing is perfect. Don't go cheap this changes the whole look. Now I need to see if they have the lower dash available. Chevy dashes Crack so much. It should be recalled.

What an amazing after market product for my cracking Tahoe dashboard. Thank you for making this product. Like many other ‘07 Tahoe owners out there my dash is cracked to pieces and of course Chevy did not issue a recall. So this product is a great little fix. It was delivered super fast. The directions are easy to understand with great pictures. The prep of your vehicle will be determined by how many cracks you have to take care of first. My hubby actually secured my cracks first. The silicone tube provided is plenty. You will actually have some left over. The install itself took less than 10 minutes by the time you slide it in place and add your weights and tape down the 2 corners. I ordered the black which matches my original pretty darn close. I was so impressed at how easy it was to install and how all the cutouts matched up perfectly. My only negatives for this product would be: 1) the corners. No matter how much silicone and tape you used, they just would not adhere to the original dash. I would suggest they put a 3m sticky on the dash to help during the curing process. 2) the dash is unable to sit snug over the speedometer area. It leaves a noticeable lip. I am just being a little picky, but I still love this product. And 3) in the directions it really needs to note Painters Blue Masking Tape. Regular masking tape is too thin and doesn’t hold.     • Easy to install and my cracked dash looks new again

I bought this to fix/hide the cracked dash for which GM trucks are unfortunately known. I had two very large cracks (one over the instrument panel and another at the corner of the airbag). The color was an exact match. This was very easy to install by myself (I will say someone with shorter arm reach may want a second set of hands). Be sure to use a good general-purpose degreaser as recommended. This step will be very important in making sure the included adhesive adheres properly. Secondly, be sure to use the included silicone adhesive to line/fill the existing cracks. This is important so prevent them from cracking further and a potential rattle under the Dash skin with would become annoying and unreachable. Thirdly, I lined the underside of the Dash skin as directed before placing it over the dash. Be sure you are installing this at a time when you can park your vehicle for at least 18 hours. I think I left it parked for 24 hours. Also, be sure to place weights across the dash to hold it in place on top of towels. The additional step I took and I'm glad I did, was to cut 2x4's to length that I could wedge (with a cloth on each end) between the dash and top of windshield frame. Additional 2x4's I placed from the front of the dash along the door to the back of the door frame for added pressure where the Dash skin lines down the front of the dash. This little detail is highly needed to keep the added pressure for a proper fit and adhesion. You will absolutely regret not doing this step. Fortunately, I have no regrets :) Good luck and I promise you will be glad you bought the Dash skin. ... show more

There are cheaper ones out there, but I chose this known brand hoping it would fit better than other dash caps I've installed before. This is the 4th dash cap I've installed on various other vehicles I've owned over the years. I recall 2 of them required extensive trimming and reshaping with a heat gun. I didn't want to go through all that extra work again. So, I paid more for this name brand cap. It is important to test fit before you install. This was about a 95% good fit. I did have to trim 1/8" at 4 small areas at the right and left ends because they were hitting the dash end caps and A pillar weather stripping. Also, I had to heat and bend the tips at the ends slightly so they sit flat against the existing dash. Other than that, everything fit well. Clean your dashboard thoroughly with a good degreaser/dewaxer, such as Prepall. I'm sure at some point, some sort of oily dressing has been applied to your dash. Silicone will not stick to a dirty, oily dash. If you're using something like alcohol, clean it at least 3 times. Alcohol is a pretty weak degreaser. More than enough silicone is provided. I only used 1/2 the tube. If you're having to use the entire tube, you're using too much. Follow the instructions on where to place the silicone. You don't need to cover the whole thing with silicone. Have at least 5 decently heavy books handy to hold the cap down overnight. It comes with little foam blocks to wedge against the windshield to hold down the edges there. Use masking tape to tape down any areas you can secure with tape. You'll definitely want to tape down the right and left ends. I also had to tape down the edge at the center vents. When you're degreasing, make sure you degrease where you plan to stick tape or it won't hold. My only 1 very minor concern, is it overhangs the vents and wood grained dash panels 1/16" to 1/8". If you ever need to remove the vents or paneling you'll need to push edge of the dash cap up a bit to clear that overhang. ... show more

This is the good one! This Dash Skin deal was probably the easiest thing I've ever installed in my wife's truck. It fit perfect amd made the cracks in the original.dash disappear. I did a dry fit and cleaned the dash. I flipped it over and glued it, then had my wife help me.set it back on the dash. No.mess. I used corn hole bags and small weights to hold it tight while the included silicon dried. And thats it, Kids. 5 stars. Fit was perfect, looks perfect Quality is a little bit better than I expected. ... show more
