  • Perfect for my kid and me
Size: 61-Key Style: Touch-Sensitive Keys
This keyboard sounds really good. The keys have a nice resistance and the construction feels solid. I think it'd be a while before my kid and I outgrow it.

  • Much better than I expected
Size: 61-Key Style: Touch-Sensitive Keys
Just learning to play the piano and decided give this Yamaha keyboard a try. Have only had it for 2 days but, totally pleased with it. Build quality is excellent as is the sound. Now to be honest, it does not have what I would consider to be enough output to play live with a group but, since basically every group/band I have heard lately has additional amplification that's not a problem. Plenty loud enough for in home or practice. One thing that I did not see mentioned in the product description was that Yamaha included the sustain pedal with my unit. Not a huge expense had they not done so but still a nice touch. Glad I did not order one. Will update in the future if problems occur but, I feel this keyboard is of very high quality and has a multitude of features, well worth the price for both beginners and seasoned players. ... show more

  • First Impressions
Size: 76-Key Style: Touch-Sensitive Keys
This is my first keyboard and I don't know much on how to play a piano. So this will be just from a beginners perspective. After looking at a large number of reviews of lots of keyboards and price ranges, I decided on this one. The price and features fit well in this price range. I pulled it out of the box and it is very lightweight. A bit plasticky. I was expecting that but was hoping that I would be surprised. I wasn't. The speakers are just okay in my opinion. Definitely not bad at this price. But after plugging in my Sony headphones, the tones sound really good. Better than what I was expecting. Keys feel a bit slippery but so far, I haven't found that to be an issue so far. I didn't see it in the description, but my keyboard did come with a sustain pedal. I wasn't expecting that so I had bought another one. There is no bluetooth connectivity to pipe in sounds. So you will have to use the AUX in jack in the back for that. This should become standard now days. I have only had this for a few days now so I can't really comment on the features at this time. I am just simply trying to learn piano basics right now. But I believe that this should have no problem serving any beginner piano player with good results. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to seriously try and learn how to play. I don't know if I'll ever be able to play it, but going to give it a serious try at it. Don't buy the $100 keyboards if you are seriously want to play. They don't sound nearly as good as this. I had my mind set on the Roland GO:Keys 3 before I found this one. This one sounds almost as good and I do mean ALMOST. And having the extra keys is a bonus. ... show more

  • Hmm
Size: 76-Key Style: Touch-Sensitive Keys
It came fast, and I was excited to play with it. But I noticed the volume on the speakers would increase and decreases spontaneously as I was playing, I also needed to crank the volume to max to be able to actually hear it. Anything lower, and it was barely audible. The sounds are great considering it's a yamaha, but i can't add other sounds, no firmware update (probably because it's newer), and after playing my roland rd-88, this keys on the yamaha are damn slippery! I needed weighted keys. But I love how light it is. I'll keep playing with it throughout the week to see how it feels, but the low volume, and keys are a bit of a turn off for me. I just wanted something light to put in my bedroom and be able to move around easily. I also found I should have purchased the 61key instead. I don't like to return things, but the slippery action has me straining my arms to stay on the keyboard. We'll see.... ... show more

  • A LOT of keyboard for a ridiculously low price!
Size: 61-Key Style: Full-Sized Keys
If you're learning, planning to learn, or just want to get your chops back (like I did) but don't have the money for the higher end Yamahas (they're worth it, believe me), this keyboard is for you. This is a professional level keyboard and can be used as such. It's also probably the least expensive Yamaha full-sized keyboard model. But brother, this thing has features and plays like butter for unweighted keys. I love it and so far, it's all I could need or handle! ... show more

  • Great little keyboard.
Size: 61-Key Style: Full-Sized Keys
I purchased a Casio first at over twice the price, which stopped working within months. They replaced it, huge hassle because they wanted me to pay for the return postage, but the second one died as well after about a year. This Yamaha so far has had zero problems.

It has a ton of functions, and phrase recording, and the sound is great(i was most worried about the sound quality being bad bc of the price but this one exceeded my expectations).
