I bought my first Rooster tail as a kid in a Vermont country store. It was a Silverish Blue & had a silver blade and was 1/8oz. I caught fish left and right on that spinner. We had a place on a Lake and i fished day and night. That Rooster tail caught Rainbow trout, smallmouth, Perch and Largemouth.. lots Pickerel. Trolling, casting and some jigging the Rooster tails spinners are one of the best, if not THEE best spinner i have ever fished. I like the 1/8 & 1/6oz size, but i have heavier Rooster tails also. These days i mostly throw Rooster tails for Trout & Smallmouth. In my experience the Brass blades model work best. I have had REALLY good success with the Black Glitter & Rainbow Trout colors.     • Very close to the original I have that was made in 1950s
I did not want to lose another one of these (mine are 1950s antiques) in my favorite stream, these have the same action - and are almost identical in color, and of course, the hooks are not all rusted like the ones 65 years old! I even got a few of the single hook versions and removed the barb (squeeze it tight with strong pliers) so I can use them where selective gear is required.
