This table is a serious anomaly. It's high quality parts, sturdy, looks good, but is also sort of junky all at the same time. The instructions... oh boy, forget about it. They are total crap. I mean, I got mine together eventually, and I'm sure anyone who's fairly handy can do so as well, but man... if you're not well versed in putting things together, you're in for one hell of a ride. The table it's self, I have mixed feelings about. I like it. It's sturdy, looks nice and didn't cost too much... but I feel like something that wasn't dirt cheap, it had some flaws. Laminate that was peeling back, some scuff marks and such. I was surprised that for something that looks and feels so nice that the quality control was so lacking. I would recommend it to a friend, but I would also disclose the issues I had with it at the same time. ... show more

So just gonna say now that the table did have issues. There was a point in the instructions that needed the steps swapped, cause you'd have had to undue the last step the complete the next one if you weren't paying attention. It's tough to tell which direction you need the parts to be turned, so you have to kind of think through how things are fitting together; I've got the cam openings facing up on the bottom shelf, and I probably could have flipped that board so they were facing down if I'd been things about it. But it was had to tell from the picture and I was too tired to think about it until it was done. It might be possible to go back and fix without too much trouble though. Also the finish isn't the greatest. I had chips and scratches in mine, though once everything was put together none of it was in any place it would really show, so I didn't mind. All that being said, I'm really happy with this purchase! The table feels sturdy whether it's up or down, and it was actually pretty easy to put together. I have a love/hate relationship with cams in most furniture, and this one was a breeze! The hardest part was putting the table top on; you either need a second person, or something to prop it on while you put in the screws. A couch works; you can add a pillow if you need just a bit more height. So happy, loving the new table! ... show more

I rarely wrote these reviews, but this table is bad... First, it's almost as if it was designed to be difficult to build. It took my friend and I over an hour to get the final 6 screws in. I just built and entire apartment worth of furniture, and this was by far the most difficult. The sturdiness of the top is concerning. When you lift it, you have to do so with 2 hands or else only 1 side will start to come up. Once up, a tiny tap will start it shaking from side to side. Overall, I guess you get what you pay far, but definitely risk it on another budget coffee table, this ain't the one. ... show more

    • Quality-Classy little Coffee Lift-top table
We have been looking for an affordable lift top table and we had a few different options but this one took the vote for how sturdy it appeared online. We read many reviews and I have to say this is definitely worth your money. We live in an apartment and although this coffee table is not the largest in length and width it’s just perfect for small living spaces. I put most of this together myself until I had to have my husband help with putting the lift top on. I read many reviews saying this table was not very sturdy and made of particle board or cheap materials but honestly this is actually quite the opposite. Sure it might not be 100% oak wood but it’s sturdy- quality material considering the price value. I would definitely recommend. One piece did come chopped in the corner but we were able to flip it and conceal that. Shipping was 4 days earlier than the estimated delivery date, so we were VERY excited. We did also get one screw that was completely melted but it did come with extras. I also didn’t have a flathead screwdriver but we made it work. One thing to note is that you do have to use two hands and guide the top up, don’t just let it spring up because it definitely has potential to tip over this way.     • Not worth the money
I bought this for about $100 and it was not at all worth it. If I hadn’t mostly assembled it I would return it. Much shorter and smaller than expected and difficult to put together. I usually find assembling furniture to be straightforward and for the most part simple/easy but this was ridiculous. Instructions were okay, could have been clearer. The worst part was putting in the screws. Some of the locations of the pilot holes were hard to get into in order to use the screwdriver and my hands are already pretty small as it is. The pilot holes were also not big enough or long enough because I could not get the screws on the bottom of the legs to go in completely and no matter how much strength I put into it I couldn’t get the screws to go in all the way on the top piece with the spring/bracket part either. I wouldn’t say it’s a two person job but it definitely requires a drill, which was not advertised (and that I don’t have). Right now it’s sitting in my room partially assembled because I need a drill to finish getting the tight screws in. ... show more
