Update: XpriteUSA replaced my item but only after writing the below review. As you can see by my review below, I tried to resolve before writing this review. Thank you XpriteUSA for the replacement, arrived quickly. Bottom line, listed as new, but obviously used, scuffed, and broken contacted Xprite and they would not replace. I have Xprite taillights and was excited to get this at a 20% discount on Prime Day. When it arrived I left it in the box and saved it for install during my next tire rotation. Three months after receiving it as the weather cooled I decided to rotate my tires, when I opened the box I discovered the unit was used and broken, with no instructions or mounting hardware. Obviously a repacked return. I contacted Xprite and they refused to replace it, because they have a 30 day return policy. I contacted them again, explained that they shipped me a used and broken product, gave them the benefit of the doubt to give them a chance to exchange it for a new item. They still refused, sticking with their 30 day policy. They had the chance to do the right thing, but chose not to, I had hoped that the thought of a customer receiving a used and broken product would enough for them to make it right. I guess customer service and standing behind there product is not a priority.

As usual, I'm impressed with my Xprite purchase. Super easy to install, I removed my third brake light and added this instead, so it was plug and go with no issues. I've received two compliments in the past week since install.

Update: After calling the company, I was sent a replacement brake light. Company was extremely polite and took care of all my needs for me. Definitely recommend in the future. I installed this last night. Difficult to attach wiring. But then we found out the wiring is backwards. We wired red to black and black to red and light lit up. However, the third brake light above the tire does not work now. Does anyone have literally any answers to this? Calling on the company

This product works well, but it’s connectors were not adapted to my existing 3rd brake light plug. To make it work I had to splice the wires and connect my own adapter. The second issue was that the new cable from this brake light is quite thick so the third brake light bracket will not close properly. In this case I had to drill a second hole to make it seal and avoid water penetration. Again, the light works well once it is installed, but it is definitely not plug & play.

It is nice. Does all sorts of variations. Would be 100% satisfied but on my 2013 Jeep it will not work if hooked up as instructed. It interferes with the turn signals and brake lights. I tried several different wiring configuration, and would not work properly. Eventually, wires it in a way that it will work only when the brakes are pushed, and it always light up to whatever color you set, there is no brake light override.

The media could not be loaded. Jeep JK Sport 2012 apparently had a different plug type. This does not fit my Jeep. I am capable of so cutting and rewiring, but that is not in the definition of a plug and play item.

LED's seem a little dim , not sure why they felt the need to smoke the acrylic , but looks good and is unobtrusive. No thanks to FCA for that convoluted piece of junk bracket that holds the CHMSL and its wiring, but you can hide most of the wiring and connectors if you want to. Time will tell as to its longer term reliability and performance.

This thing is perfect for the stock 17" spare wheel that came with my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. I used a little double sided mounting tape on the tire carrier to keep it in place during tire changes. For the wiring, I used two "vampire" spade clips to tap into the brake light inside the weird Jeep para-scope third brake light housing. It would be nice if it shipped with these, but they are cheap and easy to find. This light went down 26 miles of VERY VERY BUMPY trail, was exposed to desert heat (127° F (no, not kidding))---and kept working through a torrential rain that lasted two days. People following me out to and back from deep West Texas said they could pick me out at a distance because the light was so distinct. It does not do ANY disco tricks, but I'm super impressed with it. The one job it does, it does very well.

It's a great additional light I know people couldn't see my third brake if they were behind me in a car due to my lift. This definitely gets noticed. It's not super bright but it gets the job done. My only complaint is they should think up a retention washer or something along those lines putting the spare back on after mounting this is a pain in the ass. It just sits on the lugs and it seemed like the smallest bump from the spare knocked it off the lugs. Not a deal breaker but definitely frustrating. Once the spare is on its great but definitely obvious they didn't think about putting the spare back on during the design phase.

Bought this to install on my son’s 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ with 15 inch rims. Knew we might have to do a little modification given the lugs on the TJ. It fit inside the 15 inch rims without having to make any adjustments. We did have to do some other work on the holes in order to fit the bolt pattern. We used a drill and a box cutter to bevel out all three holes a little bit—box cutter actually worked better. We couldn't find a file in the tool box and we don’t own a dremel. Beveling our the holes gave it a nice snug fit. Used some butt splice connectors and didn’t have to use any extra wire with what we had with the Jeep and the insert was plenty. Really like the two rings of lights—plenty bright and very happy. Haven’t taken it back to the inspection place to see if they’ll pass it as the third light. We are in Texas.

Install was easy, just slips over the studs on the tire carrier, and is held in place by the wheel. It is NOT plug & play, so there is some wiring required. The light assembly came with plenty of wire length, so I just removed the stock 3rd brake light assembly, cut the wires, & connected the wiring to the new light. Not quite as bright as I would have hoped, but that may be because the lens that covers the LEDs is tinted. Overall, happy with the way it turned out.
