So I tried these one day at work in the rain, first few hours they worked, but by the end of the day whole shoe was wet and starting to soak in water after 8 hours of work, I have sense then used a heavy duty silicone water resistant spray on them, and sense then they work very good, comfort is very nice, and fits true to size unless you have a wide foot.. over all nice boot, just spray it and rain proof it before you take them outdoors, very similar to a so-called (waterproof) Suede workboot, as we all know only waterproof for a very short period, so they need to waterproofed before really going out in the weather.

I bought one pair of them, the more aggressive hiking boot, I liked the look. But, I had my doubts because they were less expensive than merrels, my other favorite shoe/boot, got my first order in, and I like them so much, I’ve now purchased more/different models. Which brings me to this pair here. My other pairs of Xpetis are leather. And are much stiffer, these are a nylon material which forms to your foot instantly, more like a real snow shoe. Which makes them extremely comfortable as soon as you put them on. The sole, is more of a flat look, without the arch in the sole, but plenty of arch inside for the foot. This is to give you more area of the boot on the ground. For ice and snow, traction Plenty of grip on the sole, solid firm feel on the ground. To me, a good boot for a good price, I’m a 9 in a merrel, these are true to fit for me. Buy them, you’ll be happy you did.

These XPETI boots are great. They are very warm, they don’t feel very stiff when you first put them on brand new. The only thing I didn’t care for which is not a big deal, but the laces that come with it are very thin. All I did was keep my old pair of steel laces and I use those. Not to take away anything awayfrom the boot, but these really are good boots.

Overall these boots are impressive for the price. I work in landscape maintenance and construction and put my boots through hell. These boots have outlasted my Redwings, timberland pro and carolinas. I need boots that are light weight, water resistant, durable and comfortable and these fit the bill. My work boots typically lasts for 6-9 months and that's because the outer soles start to come apart. I have had these for 6 months and everything is still intact, although the threads are showing wear, which is expected as I typically walk 9-17 miles a day on dirt, mud, asphalt and concrete. I will say that the insoles are not the most comfortable but it's not a problem for me because I always use other insoles. The quick lace/tying setup is nice and durable. Waterproof these boots are not. Standing in water for more than 10 minutes and your feet will be wet. I will be buying again

Update: I'm upgrading my original review to 5 stars now that I've owned these boots for several seasons. Real-world, long-term testing has proven these are exceptional! Build Quality: These are exceptionally well-constructed boots that have stood the test of time. The craftsmanship is solid, the materials are high-quality, and they've maintained their integrity through multiple seasons of regular use. Yes, they're a bit more substantial than lightweight hiking boots, but that robust build is exactly why they've lasted so well and provide superior protection on the trail or shoveling snow in the driveway or walking the snowy cold wet streets of NYC in the winter. Performance - Where They Really Matter: I specifically purchased these for winter hiking, and they've exceeded my expectations. My feet stay warm and completely dry even in cold, wet, snowy conditions. This is the true test of a winter boot, and these pass with flying colors. Fit & Comfort: The sizing is accurate—order your normal size and you'll be good to go. The fit is comfortable right out of the box and only gets better as they break in. Long-term verdict: After several years of ownership, I'm genuinely thrilled with these boots. They've proven their value through consistent performance, durability, and reliability.
