These are a really light duty clamp with the exception of the copper jaws. But the clamp itself is made of standard plastic and the hinge is also plastic and not a metal pin. If light duty is all you need or occasional use that won't wear on this plastic pin, then these may work for you. That said, you are going to have a tough time getting that wire clamped onto these. There is not a screw terminal or a screw hole for mounting an eyelet. Instead, you have to figure out how to unscrew the jaws from inside and then crimp the wire in and if it's more than 12 AWG, you're probably not going to have enough material to get a good crimp on the wire. ... show more

The weigh of each clamp is only 32g (1.13oz). They are deceptively small compared to the appearance in the listing photos. Size wise these would be more appropriate for use on a small portable jump pack than for use on jumper cables. See photos for size comparison. The screw head holding in the jaw is only 3.3mm wide. I used a jeweler's screwdriver to remove it to solder the wire. Listing claims “Rated current: 100-1000 Amp.” I saw a listing for an identical item and they claim 100A. I can barely manage to fit 10ga wire in it (black wire, see photos) so more like 50A is a reasonable expectation. The red wire is 12ga. As you can see in the photos, using a wire of larger than 12ga doesn't allow for the ears at the base of the jaw to get a grip on the wire insulation. Even if I used that area as the wire crimp (but then where is my strain relief?)- the listing states 2-6 ga which is just fabrication So other than overstating what you get by an order of magnitude they are Ok lol.
