Tape should be durable but time will tell. I put tape on rubber backing of stair carpet mats. The carpet backing was advertised as grippy, but not so much. This tape went on pretty easily, adhered tightly. I was able to put the carpet pad down, then pull it back up to reposition it without too much trouble at all. Highly recommend this, and will be putting this on all my area rugs. Best to use an Exacto knife or box cutter to cut the tape. Scissors will work, but get stickum on the blades. ... show more

Can’t cut it without sticking to the cutting tool. Tried both scissors and a sharp blade. And sticks to your fingers so much that by the time you apply it to the floor, the tape is wrinkled. Would welcome instructions if there’s a better way to apply.

I had used the more narrow and it is good for small rugs but did not work as well on a larger rug on top of carpet. This one is wider and has much more holding power. Really like it. Does not slip.
