    • Clips are borderline trash

At the end of the day, the install is clean and the bulb color & brightness is fantastic. The install was a pain in the butt. I think most people complaining about the lights not working probably struggled with the clip that requires the installer to slot the wires into it. I think they did it this way so that 1) the ballasts can be re-used between bulb types and 2) the hole you cut in the rear cover is smaller (mine still had to be 3/4" to fit the other clips). The issue with it is that trying to get a solid connection on that clip, where it clips to your car's wiring harness, is a royal pain. I think by the end I figured out that the little rubber insulation plungers were too far up the wires, getting in the way of the connection. After I disassembled the clips and slid the plunger things down the wire more I was able to wiggle the clip and get a solid connection. Install time would have been drastically reduced if it weren't for that. I was also bummed to see that my box didn't come with any sort of rubber grommet to try and keep any water out of the required hole. I'll head to the hardware store and buy a couple, but for now...it's duct taped. I think next time I'll go off Amazon to try and find a product with better clips. ... show more

    • Quality and performance is not what they used to be

I have purchased these headlights and used them in several of my projects a few years ago, and I was always happy with them and preferred this brand of HIDs over any brand of LEDs. I bought a new set for one of my new-to-me vehicles, and I am extremely disappointed. The light output is not what I used to get out of these bulbs a few years ago. They are constantly flickering and they display different colors throughout the light beam. Meaning that I see some yellow I see some blue and then of course the white. So the color is inconsistent, the light bulbs flicker constantly, and they are not as bright as they used to be. I would suggest staying away from these sets as I can honestly tell you that a 55 watt halogen bulb is just as bright as these HIDs. You are better off getting a 55 watt LED set for pretty much the same price, but you'll get a much more crisp, bright and instant light output ... show more

I liked them wife lovedm untill this happend with my kids in the car if i wasnt rideing with them they would have never known and the truck would have cought on fire and with my wife pregnant and are daughter 3 in car seat and son 5 in with her how would she be able to getm out of it did how can u rely on something u think is safe when its not????? ... show more

    • Flickering light, ignitability, and quality control...

From initial install I had issues with light flicker in one of the lights. Trying to figure that out cost an additional 90 -100 dollars. Switching the bulbs, ballasts, standalone wiring harness would get me nowhere. Initially i thought the issue was the bulbs, then ballasts, then harness, then bought a volt meter to check my car. Could not get the flickering issue resolved. Replacing the parts didnt work. I finally had enough and bought a full kit from morimoto. Problem solved. There is nothing wrong with saving money but if you want something to work properly from the get go there is no peace of mind like pitching in for quality. These might work for you or it might not. The real question is how much your time is worth because if you get an issue with this kit you will be spending a lot more than of you had paid more and got some quality. Respect yourself enough to get a proper set. ... show more

Bought these for my car, installed them and then one of the lights went out. I ended up ordering the lights separately and found out that the lights were not the problem and that it might be the ballast, so I contacted xentec’s customer service and they sent me a new ballast free of charge. Changed out the ballast in less than 2 min. and the lights work and haven’t had another problem with them… only had these for about 2 and a half weeks, will update if anything happens ... show more

Easy installation, all parts were included, worked just fine. Only small problem was one ballast was dented, looks like it was crushed before it was even in the box as the box wasn’t damaged at all. I did open up the ballast to make sure the internals were intact and operational and everything looked fine, the part that was crushed wasn’t in contact with any parts inside. For the money these lights aren't bad at all. Everybody says customer service is bad. Once you find out the right people to contact I emailed them the first time I got no response. Dug into it again email them for a second time got a response in 24 hours one of my 55 watt ballasts shorted out and fried. So they sent me another one and they sent me a replacement light. So far no other issues. I got the bulb and the light in like 2 days. Week later I got another replacement ballasts in the mail. Don't know if it was a fluke or not but at least I have a spare I would buy again ... show more
