  • Perfect for a Dell XPS 13 9305
As the review states, this works seamlessly for a Dell XPS 13 9305 for two specific reasons. Firstly, the port placement via USB-C is perfect for the Xebec because it makes wire management simple and clean, and the XPS 13 has enough USB-C ports on both sides so you can still connect another hub so you don't feel constrained and inconvenienced. Secondly, the XPS is able to utilize both screens (this is abpparantly a common issue). Wire management and ports: One of my main concerns when deciding on purchasing a scrren extender specifically for my laptop was wire management. At first I was concidering just one extra screen, but when I realized I could do two extra screens, the idea of a cleaner looking setup was most appealing. All the other brands I concidered just had these long wires that made the whole thing look cluncky and bothersome, and the Xebec was the only one I saw that had this sleeker look to it, without those long wires ruining the aesthetics. With my XPS, the shorter wires connect to the ports that are next to their corresponding port on each side without having to be connected to a port via a longer wire on a different end. This is essentially what sold me the most! Utilization of both scrrens: Some of the reviews I read mentioned an issue where the connectivity wasn't as seamless and that both screens may not be usable out of the box for some laptops. I did not have this issue on my XPS. When I connected both screens, they were both usable, and after confirguring out of the default screen mirroring to screen extension, I was good to go. Only took a couple minutes to figure out how to do that and change the font size to something I prefered, and adjust the color/brightness on the Xebex directly before I was all squared off. I let my sister try the Xebec on her HP government issued WFH laptop, and only the right screen was usable, and the left screen wouldn't work after being connected. From what I read on some forums, you may have to download a driver or something like that to make it usable if that happens, but I also read in other places that some people couldn't get it to work even after trying that. So, long story short, this worked perfectly for my Dell XPS 13, but on my sister's HP Windows laptop, only the right screen worked. Screen size: My Dell XPS 13 is about 13in diagonally, and the Xebec is listed at about 10in diagonally. My 13in laptop was already pretty small for me to begin with, which I like, but the Xebec screens are much smaller... like MUCH smaller. It took a few weeks to get used to it, but now I don't really notice it. Due to the size, I had to adjust the ratio settings to compensate because fonts do look pretty tiny if you don't. I believe I set it to 150% on the Xebec screens so I can read things easier. If you don't like small screens, this probably isn't for you, but if you don't mind then it works. Honestly you can run spreasheets and other programs with ease if you just adjust your ratios to compensate for the screen size, but that's just my opinion. Also screens aren't thr brightest, but they are bright enough, and I'm pretty sure I should not keep my screen as bright as I keep it, for the sake of my eyes lol. The screens themselves do not tilt up and down on their own, so you will be limited it their individual tilt based on where you main laptop screen is tilted. Also they don't swivel all the way back or on their own axis, so you can't show someone sitting directly opposite you one screen without moving the whole laptop (or at least I don't think you can because my screens let me know by feel when they've been swiveled too far). My particular unit was a refiurbished unit, so there were slight quality control issues which I wasn't too pressed about so I kept it. The left screen isn't sturdy, so if there is a little vibration, or I touch it too firmly, the bottom right corner dips down (this is probaly why it had to be returned to be refurbished), also, when I slide the left screen in, it doesn't slide all the way in at the end for storage because the part of the plastic that is supposed to slide in and hold it in place isn't flushed with the housing, so I have to physically push it down to let it slide all the way in so it can be stored without sliding back out, and the kick stand in the back isn't flushed with its housing, so it is always kinda sticking out a little when I am not using it. Overall, these aren't fatal flaws for me. Like I said, I kept it! For the price and the functionality, it wasn't a big deal for me, and worth the price. I guess that's the risk you take by going refurbished. The refurbished unit did come with a 1 year warranty. I can't remember the terms. Overall, I still give it 5 stars because I like the look of it, the refurbished price point is good, and the functionality is great! ... show more

  • Took out two diffrent Monitors
Up date Tried again and they destroyed two Monitor on my Macbook pro and the a second replacement. I am not going to be trying for three. I had to use them as monitors standing behind my actual lap top. RETURNED Screens are to small to be of any use to me On a desk. Cant read email or anything. IF you change the resolution then it balloons or uses only part of the screen. These screens might be okay if they are in your lap but in a desk situation I don't see them being any good. I do like the fact that they slide out and seem to be well made. You also have to download extra software to get both screens to work. Other brands i didn't have to do this. Make the screens 13" to match laptop and I would buy. Actually using S2 Pro tri monitors to type this review, because I can read what I am typing. ... show more

  • Great for working while traveling
Easy to install to the back of my laptop; although a little heavier than I expected, it's still fine with the kickstand provided. I did have to do a quick Google on how to get the second screen working. I have an HP Elitebook and it only has one USB-C, so need to use the HDMI cable AND a second USB wire for the power to the second screen (all cables came included, and all plugged directly into the computer/Xebec monitors). It is a little bulky though so I can't keep it on my laptop while I'm traveling (I have a slim space for my laptop in my backpack and it won't fit) so looking into getting a case/cover to protect it while it's in my bag. Overall, would definitely recommend for those that now NEED to have more than 1 screen to work while on-the-go! ... show more

  • Good idea in theory, but screens are quite fragile
I have purchased this product twice in the last 3 years. The design improved from version 1 to version 2 by better protecting the screens inside the housing, but both times I spiderwebbed the screen through what should be considered normal handling. With v1, I had the monitors inside the provided bag inside my computer bag and a pen or other device put pressure on the screen, causing it to spiderweb. With v2, the design improved so the screens slide inside the housing so the surface was not exposed when stored on the computer. Unfortunately, the screens get misasligned easily in the housing, causing them to bind rather than slide in. One got stuck and as I worked to realign it, the pressure on the screen caused it to spiderweb. In both cases it was an interior component that spiderwebbed, not the outer glass. ... show more
