  • Great price! Decent system!
Platform For Display: 4GB with Kinect Holiday V... Edition: Standard
We've always owned a PS3 and Nintendo products. While it appears we need to purchase a $99 membership to XBOX Live for the family, as opposed to the PS3's free service, the Kinect has proven to make up for all of it. I'm surprised at how well it works and it's nicer not to have to hold a controller to get the motion sensor to work. If you buy a 32GB flash drive, you can expand the 4GB to 36GB. The PS3 has the HDD, so we'll continue to use that for all the "big" games. Halo isn't a concern for us. ... show more

  • Great Family Fun
Platform For Display: 4GB with Kinect Holiday V... Edition: Standard
This beats Wii hands down in my opinion! Purchased the Wii last year for x mas and the kids only played it for a short amount of time, but this xbox kinect has been played daily since christmas.. It's like a pc, tv, gaming system and more all in one. You can surf the web, watch HBO Go, Play games, listen to music, add a usb flash drive for extra memory for game storage or music and my son finds the voice commands to be simply amazing! He also loves that you can go online and play games w/ his friends/ neighbors all while he is at our home and they are at theirs... This is gaming taken to a whole new level... ... show more

  • Xbox 360 Helping Me Do A 180
Platform For Display: 4GB with Kinect Holiday V... Edition: Standard
I bought this product after months of searching for an affordable gym membership failed. In order for me to be successful working out from home, I knew I would need strong motivation to keep me disciplined. So I remembered how much fun the PlayStation was, but I didn't want to have to hold a controller in my hand. Now that the new Xbox One is coming out, I thought I'd take advantage of this soon to be outdated game system with the Kinect sensor. I bought some simple, easy, old folksy type exercise videos, and it turn out to be the best thing I've done this year. Turns out even the easiest and simplest of videos are strenuous for me, and "Oh Boy" does my flabby muscles love it. I actually look forward to getting home, putting on my workout gear, and cranking up my Xbox workout video. I hope to be muscle toned in 6-8 months, and very pleased with this old body again. What I don't really care for is how even though I have Netflix, Xbox want me to pay them to access my Netflix subscription. I also, don't particularly care for Xbox Live, and hope that once the free trial runs out that I won't be forced to subscribe to it as well. Don't like it forcing me to take pictures of myself (I know its out there in cyberspace), I don't like the possibility that someone I didn't approve of or want to have my pictures may have access to them. However, I would recommend the console to anyone and everyone. Just try not to get caught up in the hype of purchasing stuff you really don't need or have time for. ... show more

  • Moving up from the Wii
Platform For Display: 4GB with Kinect Holiday V... Edition: Standard
Our 5 year old enjoys playing video games on our Wii, but because of the complicated remote control a five year old playing the Wii means an adult playing the Wii and the five year old pretending to play along. Enter the Xbox with Kinect. He still needs help getting the games set up. And his poor little hand won't hold still long enough to trigger the buttons most of the time (although he is working on it). But once he is in the games he can do that on his own without parental participation. The adventure game with this set is fun and entertaining, We have not figured out the Disney game yet. There is a problem with getting him identified and it keeps reverting him to a guest avatar. Probably something to do with that five year old inability to stand still issue. The games are a lot of fun for him and the whole family. We bought Kinect Sports seasons 1 & 2 and also downloaded Kinect Party. The former is a lot of fun with plenty of variety, the latter is silly fun for a 5 year old and entertaining for everyone to watch. Especially when our dog wanders through the middle of a scene. The only drawback so far is the 4GB of internal memory. You will have to expand this if you plan on downloading anything at all. We downloaded a few free games and the updates to the games we had purchased and the 4gb was gone. The official add on Hard Drive can slide right in to this unit, but it costs more to buy from Microsoft than just going up to the 250gb bundle in the first place. There are ways around buying an official Microsoft Hard drive if you have an old laptop hard drive laying around but theoretically use of those drives can get you removed from Xbox Live, so buyer beware if you go that route. I know they are talking about the 720 coming out next year, but for our purposed this does the trick. It is a system the whole family can enjoy. We will be trying different games with this both using the Kinect (your Shape, Zumba Rush) and classic arcade style games (The Lego movie games are a big draw for the 5 year old). So far so good and a worthy step up from the old Wii. ... show more

  • Decent Deal
Platform For Display: 4GB with Kinect Holiday V... Edition: Standard
My daughter has been wanting one for awhile. Im a little slow to spend money on video games - mainly because I tend to get addicted to them causing me to spend too much time in front of them. She is always having friends over so we decided to purchase. (Probably should have done it at Christmas - might have got a better deal). Overall, we enjoy the xbox kinnect. Much better than having to hold somehting in your hands like the Wii and seems to be pretty fluid. Sometimes the kinnect fails to recognize who the player is and we have to manually log in but its a nice system all in all. ... show more
